Mock Draft Choices
This morning I decided to type up a mock draft just to pass the time, but when I got down to the Vikings pick, there were some interesting choices, and I had no idea what to do. I tried to do every teams pick on the best combination of need and BPA (leaning a little more on the side of the teams need). I thought it looked passable, but please comment.
So when I got to the 17th pick, Adarius Bowman, Calais Campbell, and Reggie Smith were all still available, and those are our three biggest areas of need. Of course there are many other people still available, but in my mind those would be our top three choices. Who would you choose?
1 Miami - Glenn Dorsey DT
2 St. Louis - Jake Long OT
3 Oakland - Darren McFadden RB
4 Atlanta - Andre Woodson QB
5 Kansas City - Ryan Clady OT
6 NY Jets - Chris Long DE
7 New England - Malcolm Jenkins CB
8 Baltimore - Matt Ryan QB
9 Cincinnati - James Laurinitis LB
10 New Orleans - Kenny Phillips S
11 Buffalo - Malcolm Kelly WR
12 Denver - Sedrick Ellis DT
13 Carolina - Vernon Gholston DE
14 Chicago - Brian Brohm QB
15 Detroit - Sam Baker OT
16 Arizona - Mike Jenkins CB
17
Minnesota - ??
Available: Adarius Bowman, Calais Campbell, Reggie Smith

Re: Mock Draft Choices
I voted for Campbell. He's from the "U" so that's a plus in my book.
Not only that, the guy is freakishly big and he is pretty talented as well.

Re: Mock Draft Choices
Adarius Bowman
Very intriguing prospect.
Checked a bunch of sites and on almost all of them he is the 2nd best WR only because of his off the field history and right up there with Kelly talent wise.

Calais Campbell
Sounds like he is a good prospect as well but a bit heavy (by 20lbs) than a normal RDE. Looks like he might project better as a LDE or even a fast disruptive DT if he can carry extra weight.

Reggie Smith
Very nice size and sounds like a good prospect as well but do you think we need another young CB on the roster right now.
If he projects as a FS as the scouting report aledges then possibly yes especially if he is able to go from a cover corner to a cover 2 scheme.

Based on a quick look at thier scouting reports I would go with the WR.
Seems to fit the scheme and our teams needs better. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Mock Draft Choices
Derrick Harvey from Florida or DeSean Jackson for the California Golden Bears
If i could only chose those 3 i would go with Reggie Smith, im not sold on Bowman.

Re: Mock Draft Choices
I second the vote for Early Doucet. His starts are down a bit this year from 772 receiving yards last year to about 470 this year, but he was injured for five games. He's a stud WR. We;ll get a better look at him against Ohio State.

Re: Mock Draft Choices
I'd love to see Doucet in purple again

I go to LSU, certainly a homer there... however, his stats were down this year due to injury.
I'd LOVE to say he may drop to the 2nd round but I can't see it happening....
But he's money in clutch situations and I never heard of him getting into any off the field crap his entire time down here....

Re: Mock Draft Choices
Your mock draft is flawed... you don't have Detroit taking a WR in the first round
The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.
