Amazing what having a bright future will do for your FA prospects.

That said, I really didn't see anyone in the list of FAs from that article that I really want.

The 2008 veteran free-agent class - headlined by Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, Bears receiver Bernard Berrian, Dallas Cowboys safety Ken Hamlin, Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen, New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel, Oakland Raiders running back Justin Fargas and Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth - isn't all that impressive, especially since many of the aforementioned players will be re-signed by their own clubs.

Obviously, though, all of the factors are secondary to one: money.

In most cases, if you payem, they will come.

Curtis still isn't in a bad position.
He definatly got more receptions in Philly than he would have here, and McNabb is playing well again.
I can say honestly that the Eagles were one of the most underrated teams this season.
They took it to the Pats, they beat the Cowboys, and made a strong statement at times that they're still here.

Jared Allen would be perfect.
But I am positive he will get franchised.

Yeah, he is tops of my wish list too, but can't see them wanting to let him go.
Somebody just said on one of the pregame shows (I think that was NFL Network), that CLE will offer Derek Anderson a long term contract, and that they expect him to start next year...just figured I'd throw that in here.

I like Shank, hope our blocking improves engough to give him some more shots downfield and sideline outs!

And, obviously, Winfield feels the same way many of us PPOers do:

"I hope so, because we're right there," Winfield said. "Add another player here and there, and get us over the hump."

Chances are, most of the big name free agents will be resigned, and as said before, Jared Allen will be one of em, but there's always a few who slip through the cracks, and hopefully the ones that do, fit our needs, and if that happens, hopefully Chilly will take advantage of that.

A good read, but still early to start speculating.


On a side note, have the exact cap numbers been released yet?
Do we know exactly where we will stand?

I agree...he is a beast. Now this is case when I trade CT.

I know this has nothing to do with the thread but does anybody know when the free agency period starts?
