I personally love the tweaks Pagac seems to be working on and think he will serve fine as thie DC ... So to have someone else so strongly defensive minded would be huge. To have Frazier, Pagac and Singletary brainstorming on defense you would have to think we could come up with a few cool things.

I would have to wonder though how comfortable it would be for pagac to work under frazier but over singletary considering how close those 2 are. Would there be any concerns about Chain of Command and singletary knowing his role and sticking to it?

I don't think it would be a problem. I just do not see Singletary as the kind of guy who would do shit like that considering he does not want to put up with shit himself.

I don't think it would be a problem. I just do not see Singletary as the kind of guy who would do shit like that considering he does not want to put up with shit himself.

Although Pagac would be DC and Singletary would be the LBs coach, Singletary would likely get the open assistant coach position that Bieniemy left behind. So although he would be under Pagac in the defensive scheme of things, he would be higher up from a team standpoint.

Interesting move and would bring a lot of experience to the LB corps. As said Singletary doesn't have coordinator experience but who knows what may happen in the future and could eventually lead to a DC position - maybe in Minny.
His spell as HC will have served him well despite the results he had, if we land him then I would consider it a good move.

I would love this move by Frazier if they are able to pull it off. As others mentioned, Singletary was a little in over his head as a head coach and has no coordinator experience. If there's one thing the guy knows, it's linebackers. He's a great motivator from all accounts but really wasn't a good personnel guy in San Fransisco, especially when dealing with offensive players (horribly mismanaged the quarterback situation there).

Not sure how Singletary did any worse than Nolan and other 49ers head coachs. In fact under his regime, Davis actually produced, Smith looked decent and he had the gaul to bench an under achieving Alex Smith.:unsure:

I hope this happens. Singletary could be perfect for that hard nosed coach type for the players. We have a good group of LBers. Singletary will make them better. Hopefully Greenway stics around because he could benefit. He's good already but Singletary could make him even better.

I'm not so sure about this, Singletary's coaching technique seems to be if things are going wrong, shout at the players. If they keep going wrong then shout louder. Having said that other failed HC's have found a niche further down the ladder, hopefully he could be the same if he winds up at the Vikings.

i like this move singletary would be that ember that can explode to fire up our D players while Fraziers cool headed-ness to keep everything together.

Just watching the Sky Sports coverage here and during halftime they had a phobe with ex-Bear Marcus Gayle who has strong links to the show. They asked Gayle about Singletary and the Vikings and, from his conversations with Singletary, it sounds as if Singletary is looking on the Vikes with much interest. Feeling is that he would like to get a coordinator position eventually and feels that Minnesota would be a good place to come and start.
So we shall see indeed

looks like he is comin to Minny. Now we just need to get Josh McDaniels here. The McDaniels hire could probably be the biggest impact on our offense all offseason.
