What's so bad about McMahon? I think he's got potential. I said the same thing to my Lions loving friend years ago when they drafted Harrington.

I do remember one thing. He came out of nowhere and tore us up when he played the Vikes. I think it was his rookie season.

You must not have watched any Philly games after McNabb left to have surgery, he is a deer in the headlights!

The Vikes have a tendency to make rookie QB's look like world beaters!
That's a great way to describe him. He looked exactly like a deer in headlights. The guy has all the athletic talent in the world, but doesn't seem to make very good decisions. I wouldn't necessarily mind him as a backup though, I guess. I think he's good enough to come in and hold down the fort for 2 or 3 games if Johnson (heaven forbid) would happen to go down, especially considering he's familiar with Childress.

McMahon is decent if he has enough time to make his reads. If he is rushed, forget about it, he is done. I think any QB we get this season to backup BJ, has a decent chance at success because of our upgrade on the O-Line. Like Childress said, it all starts up front.

Coach C must see something of value. As mentioned, all the physical tools-probably asked to do way too much in Detroit, might have ruined him for what he needed to do with a "fractured" team in Philly.
Remember that we all loved to rip on Madden's girlfriend Brett when he first tried to win games by himself. Let him learn from BJ and become a decent back-up for our next starter. Gawd, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BROOKS!

With the probability of us drafting a qb getting higher by the minute, who better to tutor him in the Childress offense than someone who already has tangible experience in it?

Granted I don't relish seeing him within 10 yds of the actual playing field, but as an experienced practice guy I like it.

We don't have a much better option in case BJ goes down, I definately don't want a rookie stepping in on the first year

    Thanks PurpleMafia
