    Re: Mike McMahon visiting Winter Park

    Remember, he's just going to be a backup to Brad until we get a new QB groomed and ready to go. Childress must have seen something in him he liked and he's probably the best of the bunch out there for that job right now.

    I wonder if we could get Gino Toretta back. I don't think he has many miles on the odometer and he won the Heisman. I bet he would be cheap too.

    Yes, I am being sarcastic too.

    I think we are just tryin to shore up the back up position... not a bad move, cause he is definately better than what is backing up Brad right now... common don't be so against it.

    We will still try to draft a QB....

    Here's da poop on dis McMahon mug....
    =================================================
    Full Name: Michael Edward McMahon
    Born: February 8, 1979
    Pittsburgh, PA
    Height: 6-2
    Weight: 215 lbs.

    Age: 27
    Pos: QB
    Experience: 5 years
    College: Rutgers
    Drafted: Year:2001 Round:5 Pick:18, Lions

    2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
    Grade: 65 | Key
    Alert: None

    Comment:
    He has a powerful arm and gets excellent velocity on deeper passes. He has a quick release and flashes the ability to neutralize the rush. However, McMahon is inconsistent, doesn't make sound decisions under pressure and lacks the ability to stay within the offense. He doesn't show great accuracy in the short-to-intermediate passing game and while he makes some spectacular passes, he fails to connect on some easy ones. He is not a timing passer and is inaccurate when throwing underneath crossing routes. McMahon also throws too many passes up for grabs when on the run and at times tries to make too much happen.
    ===============================================
    Back-up, sure.

    Ill take Harrington or Aaron Brooks first. Just saw on ESPN that Griese signed with the Bears. Mcmahon threw almost as many int's in that game against Seattle as Daunte did all last year.
    ...Rodgers had to hold on the ball longer, giving players like Jared "I am completely insane and will literally eat your children" Allen time to sack Rodgers again.And again. And again. Actually I think Rodgers may have nightmares about Jared Allen the rest of the year.

    What's so bad about McMahon? I think he's got potential. I said the same thing to my Lions loving friend years ago when they drafted Harrington.

    I do remember one thing. He came out of nowhere and tore us up when he played the Vikes. I think it was his rookie season.

    You must not have watched any Philly games after McNabb left to have surgery, he is a deer in the headlights!

    The Vikes have a tendency to make rookie QB's look like world beaters!
