    Michael Huff Available

Michael Huff, a safety for the Raiders, is available via trade ( www.profootballtalk.com ).
He was chosen 7th overall in 2006.
I say we go get him.
He is a great young talent that has not reached his potential yet.
    No brainer for the Vikings.
    Go get him boys.
Afterall, if he was taken 7th overall he has to be an awesome player right?
    (LOL)

Hmmm...I have not seen him play much, so I'm not sure if I'd be for acquiring him via trade.
I'd trade TWill for him though.

I saw the article earlier & decided not to post it based on the following article. Huff looks mediocre at best on a good day.

Huff, slightly built for a strong safety and more of a form tackler than a big hitter.......is available by trade.

I’m skeptical about pulling that off, because the Raiders, the justifiable Randy Moss giveaway aside, usually ask for way more than teams are willing to give and Huff, while decent in coverage against tight ends, has not been a playmaker or much of a help in the box stopping the run.

Looks to me like a player to avoid.

    I
counter that it would be up to the scouting department(just look at the twins), not to mention he plays for the worst organization in the NFL.

I can't see how playing on the Raiders makes him less of a big hitter or changes the fact that he isn't much help in stopping the run.

Either you can hit & tackle or you can't. Switching teams won't fix that.

It won't change his form or style, but I would argue that it would change his performance.

IMO, it's probably easier to play safety with a good defensive line, linebackers, corners and good coaching, none of which the Raiders have had recently.

Agreed, Ltrey...being a top pick at safety for his poosition out of college is a good thing...the guy could be used to take D. Smith job...and used to play C-2 in college
