we need a safety since sharper left, wat do u think?
    We didn't need a safety even before that ball-hawking over-the-hill tackle-misser left.
Still whinning about that one missed tackle Sharper had trying to pick up the WR Winfield was supposed to tackle, but was out of position to make the play, eh Zeus?

Winfield got burned on that play, not Sharper.
Sharper missed more than one tackle, dude.
    Maybe 3.
    Per game.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

    Cutler/Hester/Olsen
    Rodgers/Driver/Jennings/Lee
    Stafford/Calvin Johnson/Pettigrew

Anybody who doesn't understand how important the secondary has become in the past 6 weeks to a team who can't pass the ball when we will be facing those guys 6 times a year needs to re-evaluate their analysis of the team.

Nobody said that it wasn't important.
But it wasn't the MOST important need we had coming into the draft.
That was RT and WR - which we addressed.
With the offensive additions we have made so far this offseason, I don't think that it is accurate to claim that the Vikings are a team that can't pass the ball.

I think our CBs are better than many think.

So did Griffin & Winfield. But you tend not to acknowledge those.

    I disagree.

I believe it became the most important need after it became clear those were the guys we would be facing.

If you think we will be able to pass the ball at will with Childress as the coach, the KAO as our system and either Rosie or Jackson at the QB then you are a great optimist. If you believe they can be as good as the others in the division you are an incredible optimist. And if you think adding a questionable, undersized hybrid WR/RB is more important than strengthening our pass defense this will be an interesting debale over the next few years.

    So, where will he play?

Do we trade Taylor and use him as a RB?

Did we make a mistake overpaying wade and needed to draft a replacement?

Did our previous draft picks that many are regarding as successes just waiting to blossom like Allison and Rice really end up being wasted picks that required using a #1 to fix?

I thought the roster was set and we would just be drafting for depth. Is that what he is going to be, a first round pick who will be the #4 WR, the #3 RB and possibly a return guy?

    What will be his position?

He will play where he is needed.

Harvin will also help open up the defense for Peterson.

If it happens to be Allison that he replaces then good,
Allison was a fifth round pick and hasnt done a whole lot in his time here.
Replacing a fifth round reciever with a first round reciever is not a bad thing.

Griffin & Winfield aren't over the hill. If Sharper still had it he wouldn't be playing with virtually no guarantees, in New Orleans.
