If they signed him I don't think it would be great.
Garcia has stated that he wants to be a guaranteed starter wherever he goes, and I think that is ridiculous for a 39 year old journeyman QB to demand.
If he will sign and agree to compete for the starting role I have no qualms about that.

Having Jackson starting next year would not be the worst thing that could happen.
He has shown improvement steadily over time, but did not play great in his first playoff game.
It should be interesting to see what the Vikes do this offseason.
Garcia most recently said he hopes to be able to get a starting job. Saw it on espn today. It sounded like he would be okay with competing for the job.
I don't ever remember him ever saying he needs a guarantee on being the starter. Anyone of you making that claim have a link?

    Really.

“I do feel like I have football life in me,” Garcia said. “I feel I can still contribute.
I’m not sure what my role will be with another team.
I’m not looking at it like I need to start and be the man. . . .
Hopefully, I’ll have some opportunities out there.
I’m pretty sure there’s going to be something out there for me.”

Now that Favre is retired Jeff is likely the best option available. If he were to sign a reasonable one year deal to come in and compete for the starting job, I would sign him up. It was obviously not his fault that the Bucs defense collapsed at the end of the season. I do wonder about his ability to stay healthy though. None the less, if we fix the oline issues, Jeff steps into a pretty good situation, he is familiar with the West Coast and the weapons to do damage are in place. Plus he don't cost draft picks, so there are some positives.
    I agree completely.
In fact his long-term health isn't even that big of a concern to me.
T-Jack has shown some ability coming off the bench.
Having a veteran presense, familiar with the WCO, would be huge to his continued development.

Now let's consider Garcia's NFC North possibilities, building up to the situation that makes the most sense from both sides:

And I'm really hoping Seifert got the TD/INT stats backwards lol

Garcia would be an upgrade and is the best we can get for no draft picks and for a reasonable salary I guess.I like his consistant numbers in the league ,about 220 yads /game and a 2:1 ratio between TD/picks, numbers that TJ has to match still... He would be our starter.
Yes I like Garcia(well I like his wife better,Carmela Decesare is her name)
