    Mel Kiper Jr. Draft Grades

    Minnesota Vikings: GRADE: C+

Linebacker Chad Greenway was a very good pick, while Cedric Griffin is a solid defensive back who needs to play the ball better. Ryan Cook is a versatile center who could be moved elsewhere on the offensive line. Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson went a bit high, but has a chance to be the Vikings future quarterback. Defensive end Ray Edwards struggled as a junior and I thought he needed another season at Purdue.

About where I would see us graded at. No team got A's. C was pretty much the average grade. Not bad for Childress' first time.

*Note* I didnt realize that the patriots selected kicker Stephen Gostkowski from Memphis...Mark my words, hes gonna be the next Vinatieri in a few years. Very good kicker.

Not a surprise, Kiper usually grades a lot tougher than most other "experts"

I noticed Kiper liked our picks throughout the draft on day one ... though he did think we jumped early on a few people ... he does like the three second rounders though and hopefully that is good for us in the future.

I pretty much agree with Kiper 100%

And heres the Draft grades for the Vikes from Pete Prisco(sportline.com)

    Minnesota Vikings

Best pick: First-round pick Chad Greenway will be a rookie starter at outside linebacker. Getting him with the 17th pick is a good move.

Worst pick: Using a second-round pick on quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in the second round is a risky move. He has a big arm, but he's raw.

Overall grade: B+. I love the Greenway pick and second-round corner Cedric Griffin will be a nickel starter next year.

I would put the grade on a curve... since he didnt give 1 team an "A"...

I will take the C that he gave us.. With the move for Tavaris Jackson, he could have been like most and gave us a lower grade. Over all I think we had a decent draft.
