McCauley...how good is he?
Okay, I keep hearing about the plays this kid is making, and it's at least one incredible play every day, sometimes more - since the beginning of training camp...
My question is simply this... how good is he?
Are his plays that amazing?
Is it just hype?
Is it because of the competition he is playing against (i.e., making a play against the 3rd team offense w/ 1st team D)?
I haven't heard much about our starters... really no news on Winfield and I only remember reading about Griffin once or twice, so I'm starting to wonder if he's actually just that good coming out?
I mean I know I've read some picks on TJ and some on Bollinger but I'm not there so I don't know what the rotations are etc...
Can anybody fill me in on what you think from what you've seen???

Re: McCauly...how good is he?
I only know what I read and it's all positive. When the national press starts sining his praises I know it's not just hype. Afterall the kid is a 3rd round draft choice and everyone agrees that he was a "steal" there.

From what it sounds like, our QBs stink.....
TJ throwing INTs left and right?
I wouldn't ponder the offense or defense or his skills for too long.
It is way too early.
singersp posted a nice article in on of the threads that had plenty of positives to say about McCauley.

Re: McCauly...how good is he?
I'm not too worried about our quarterback situation yet. I doubt there are many quarterbacks looking sharp at this point in camp. NOW, if Tarvaris is still throwing picks left and right by the end of camp/preseason, we may have cause for alarm.
As far as McCauley goes...I think he will be this year's Cedric Griffin. It really seems like Childress has an eye for defensive talent.

Yeah I read that article Singer posted, but I was curious about what people who are at training camp may have to say....

Isn't he suppose to be the offensive specialist that turns the defense over to his assistants and let's 'em go? Re: McCauley...how good is he?
It would not suprise me to see McCauley getting alot of playing time from the beginning of the season.
Childress says he is making a play a day.
He could be the SOD.

I was just making a point that one may want to discount all the INT by Mickey C and chalk it up to the fact that the QBs aren't in form yet.
