Thread: McCareins and Barton

Re: McCareins and Barton
id love to get that done..a little tinkering in the draft picks tho..maybe theyl take williamson or somebody along with a 2nd and 3rd, while they would also throw in their 3rd..Barton, McCareins, 2nd round for Williamson, 2nd round, 3rd round..not a likely scenario, but itd be better than losing the #7 pick..as somebody mentioned before, we need a DE, and i think we could either draft one, or trade for one with our pick
People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.

I don't think that Barton can play the middle...which makes trading for him a mistake IMO.Hey All,
Just saw this in prosportsdaily.com/nfl/nflrumors.html
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/story/503208p-424439c.html
With the departure of Napo and our WR predicament, are these two worth a trade?
Both are pretty solid proven players.
Just a thought, if we don't trade up to get CJ would trading down with the Jets (take their 1st rounder, McCareins & Barton) for our 1st round pick be a smart move?
I'd like to hear thoughts.
I am MUCH more interested in seeing how much money Anthony Clements wants to sign with us (look further in the article to see that he was released and is an UFA...his natural position is RT, so he might be a good fit for us).BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Don't like giving up our picks for these guys at all. These guys would have to worth a high level 2nd pick each just for us to trade our first for theirs. (Our first worth 1500 the Jets worth 720 http://www.theredzone.org/2006/draft/draftvaluechart.asp)McCareins was a 4th round pick who only had 347 yards receiving last year with Pennington throwing the ball. Barton looks fine but I agree with Cajunvike do we really need another OLB. Just doesn't make sense to me. We just signed Wade so if we get McCareins that makes what 4 #3 receivers?HMMMMM,

Re: McCareins and Barton
I don't believe McCareins was a #1 WR with the Jets.
I do know he has good hands and can make things happen if given more chances.
Barton is a solid LBer.
True, not MLB but IMO neither was Harris.
I'm thinking that's where Greenway will shine provided he's healthy.
I can tell you he's a much better cover LBer than Harris is any day.
Plus it never hurts to have depth.
I do understand concern for a RG and a DE.
I look forward to see what Cook is all about.
Also, maybe Marcus Johnson will come into his own.
If we did get McCareins he'd be the best WR we have.
Therefore unless we plan to move up and draft CJ I think it wouldn't be a bad trade.
We would still have the #25 pick which in this years group is probably just as good as the #12 pick.
WRs are pretty deep this year.
If we don't get CJ I wouldn't mind getting Jarrett or Meachum
