I really like the sound of Harvin in our offense too, and I like your take on him being able to fill multiple backup roles...third RB, WR depth, and a shifty, speedy return option.
IF he takes the third RB slot, it leaves us room for our develpmental WR guys: Reynaud, Allison, and/or JJ.

The RB I want is that FB from LSU, the Mighty Quinn.

Probably around a 3rd or 4th round pick...?

Harvin is not going to play RB in any system. Why people think he will is beyond me.

Not a bad RB either.
Also catches pretty well.
Another upright runner though and we know how well they turn out.
4-5 round projected pick, might be a good value guy at this point.

Sure, he could be used to mix things up and such, but to think he is a legit RB3 just isn't correct. If AD and CT get injured (hypothetically) Harvin won't be lining up as our primary back. That is what being a 3rd RB entails. Do you think the Dolphins refer to Ronnie Brown as a backup QB? How about the Ravens listing Flacco as WR5? Harvin can help us in various playmaking roles, but he won't take the third RB slot as suggested above. You need a real RB for that. The guy is a WR first a foremost. With our crowded WR corps, he may be able to make more of an impact on ST. It really isn't that hard to understand.
