Marrdros 2008 Mock Draft (7 Rounds)

I wanted to get all 7 rounds done this weekend but because of a slight degradation to my typing skills I only got 4 rounds done.
I will try to get the last 3 rounds done when my elbow heals.

    Edit:

    Well here it is.
Of course my elbow and all the excitement surrounding the Vikes have kept me pretty busy to the point that I just finished this gol 'darnit thing this morning.

Alot of extra compensatory picks as well as a pooh load of trades have me worried that I have the order right.
Additionally, I haven't scrubbed to see if I have a team using to many picks on one position.

Regardless......I happily give up some of my draft mock accuracey for the great offseason the Vikes have had.

With that said, a couple of things.........

    a.
I don't have any trades in this version.
Several teams like the Vikes and Atlanta could be players and move up/down to get players they are targeting who might not fall to them.
Its just to gol 'darnit hard to project team needs vs players to try to do trades as well.

    b.
I don't pick players cause they are from my favorite college or that they might be rated higher because of percieved talent.
I pick based on teams need, scheme they run and best player that fits that scheme.

    c.
If a guy has serious medical or personal issues I let him slide no matter how talented he might be.

In short, letme know what you think.
If you make a good argument with valid points I might use yor recommendation.

God bless you, your elbow, and those hard-to-reach dingleberries.

    I might change the DT.
Not sure if he is a good fit for a 4-3 but I was tired and didn't want to research it more.

Love the picks. Wish we could get Henne but I am good with Booty and Harvey but I am not sold on Merling.

    Good job,
I hope the draft doesn't go this way.
I don't get the DT draft in the 3rd. We have 5 DTs already.
    William Bros
    Evan
    Wyms
    Allen

    Why add a 6th?

I actually think a guy like Chase Ortiz (Edge Rusher) might get taken by the Vikes in round 6 or 7 and that they need to go DT no later than the 4th as the value board starts to get a bit slim after that.

I'm not so sure that (other than Wiliams Bros and Evans) any of the others have a long term future.
    We have the extra
picks, use one on a guy who can beat that rubbish out for a roster spot and would offer a long term solution for Phat Pat.

Now if they bundle some picks, DT isn't a need as you say.
