Jared Gaither. Franchise LT and only a 1rst round tender. I'd give up a 30th overall for that cat.

Gabe Watson, Kedric Golston. Two young DT's that would only garner a 2nd round pick.

Leigh Bodden CB, Pats. They didn't tender him anything. Wonder what it would take to get him?

On a side note, you see were the raiders tendered a 1rst and 3rd on Stanford Routt CB.
It is not just a first to get Gaither ... it is a first and starting left tackle money that you do not think will be matched. Not easy to pull off. Though I would love to see Gaither on board.

As for the Raiders, the more interesting thing is that Morrison (LB) can be had for a third round and a solid contract.
You're the Vikings. Just poison pill that contract.

I really, really doubt that you'll be making a move for a LT. I can't imagine that the franchise is giving up on McKinnie like everyone on this forum has.

The Raiders are awesome. No one in their right minds would give up a 2nd for Routt. Let alone a 1st.

It's especially ridiculous if you see that they gave Gradkowski a 2nd round tender. He's no amazing athlete, but he's a very decent QB. The best they have, anyway. He gets a 2nd, their very average nickel corner gets a 1st and 3rd.

Al Davis is giving these away on 40 times.

Marlin Jackson has not shown anything special in the NFL. Having some bodies in camp is not a bad idea though.

Solid point on the "Starting LT money" my friend, but aren't we paying that for Big Mac already?

Gil Brandt said it best on Sirius yesterday......If you have a "Franchies QB", you'd better have a "Franchise LT" to keep him healthy.

Every Noodle lover on here should be hoping and praying that the FO pukes actually go out and get us one (Franchise LT) as it might be the only reason that the Noodle wouldn't want to come back for his final contract year.

I highly doubt Jackson could even pass a physical.

Hey Marr, I'd give a 30th pick for Gaither in a heartbeat. The guy is a MASS of flesh and is at least as good as the record producer making his supplemental income at LT for the Vikes. It's not going to ever happen, but LT is going to be a festering sore until it's resolved.

I hope Big Mac makes me eat crow this year, but I doubt it.
I'm with ya on the hopes for Big Mac.

Truth of the matter is, the more the OL plays together, the better it is. Continually running in new cats isn't conduscive to creating that environment, however, Big Mac didn't really end the season on a high note as his play started to go down after about week 11 or so.

As to your thought that "It is not going to ever happen"......I know a cat on here who never ever ever ever ever in the whole wide world thought that his arch enemy (aka Lord Noodle Arm Dickhead) would ever be a Viking either.....Guess what? He is.

If that could happen, then the FO pukes could upgrade our LT position this offseason and Gaither could be the man, if not someone else.

Hey Molder, you catch what a certain DE did to us when we played the Panthers?

Guess what, he's now a Bore and they aren't done fixing that DL yet. By the way, did you see who the Lions brought in to play RDE?

The FO and Ownership group gave up on Big Mac about the time the coaching staff explained why they gave up on him and benched him in that very same game.

In the end, the staff are probably alot better at evaluating thier talent, to include what postions need to be upgraded, but even to the most casual of observers, Big Mac isn't cutting it anymore, if he every really did.

We have a very fragile old Dude back there under center who is a bit fickle about what he will do each and every year.

My guess, the Chiller didn't go down to talk to the Noodle just to help him pick out his cloths for the Leno show. I suspect he went down there to alleviate his concerns about his backside protection.

Burning a 30th overall pick for a cat like Gaither would kindof alleviate those concerns now wouldn't it? :silly:
