    Many returners on the team

After this draft I'm actually getting excited about the training camp battle of returning punts and kicks. (Did I just write that).

At this early stage who do you think will be the returnman when we travel to Ohio in September?

From last year there is Reynaud and Allison, Wade perhaps on punt duty. Add Harvin and Asher Allen to that mix.

If Raynaud makes the team, I still think it's his job to lose for the KR duty. But I think they want Harvey to try to take that role. Remember also on gameday you might want to carry only 4 WRs for some games.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

I personally don't think Reynaud makes the 53-man ... and I think Allison ONLY makes it if they want him returning kicks.
Right now ... I think that Harvin is pretty much a lock to return kicks and he could get a look at PR as well. Just a couple of ways to get the ball in his hands and make other teams fear our return game.
Personally ... I think they run Glenn Holt out to return kicks to start the season ... probably punts too.

Yeah given the last posts I realized that I forgot we had signed Holt. I didn't even know that Paymah were a returner.

Vikings add depth, special teams help by signing Paymah, Holt

"Paymah is a good physical corner with coverage skills as well as the ability to support the run," he wrote. "He has been a four-phase special teams player and, in addition, has kickoff-return ability. Holt is a big wideout who also was a good three-phase special teams player with return abilities."

Could also add a healty Gordon to the mix... but idk if he'll want to return anymore :P

At least we can probably agree that there will be a line forming with players to get to return those kicks in camp.

Re: Many returners on the team

Paymah has never returned a kick in the NFL ... so I don't know about him. He has kick return "abilities" I guess, but has not done it.
Holt is very likely to get a chance to show us what he can do as a returner. I don't think Gordon was good ... and I doubt they run him back out there.
I think as of now both return gigs are Holt's to lose ... but they are probably leaning toward getting Harvin in as a kick returner eventually ... if not also a punt returner.

As for Gordon he would be most likely for the PR job. But as vikes_king said, "he might not want it no more"

Re: Many returners on the team

I like Charles Gordon, But not as our KR/PR.

I love BB but Don't want to risk him getting hurt as our KR/PR same for AD.

I think that Reynaud and Holt should be given the opportunity

Alllison has a chance as well as Jaymar Johnson, or if one of the UDFA can do it. I think it may come down to if they keep 5 WR or 6.
If they keep 6 then one woudl be primarily a KR/PR with a option if needed as a WR or if we keep 5 or more DB's
