Don't get me wrong, I am still convinced his skills (lost a step or two) have degraded
You were also convinced Favres skills lost a step or two. How did that one go? Tomlinson could very well get a jump start from changing teams. He knows how to take care of the football. 27 fumbles his whole career and Peterson is at 20. A couple of fumbles and an small nick to Peterson and people will be calling for LT. With his experience, I might be quick to call his name when it counts, in the playoffs.
Yes, because we all know that when it counts, LT has put up legendary performances!

Eh ... I want him, but not for the cause to "bench" Adrian if he "needs" it. But because he is better than what we have and makes our team better.

I can tell you though ... I am not looking forward to him coming out in the playoffs and doing what he does best, laying an egg.

Yup! We still have a chance! Come on LT! You know the family would be better off with the downhome good guys in MN than the Big-Hype Nose-Up-Your-Butt Big Media of NYC!! :cheer:

Rumor I saw had them offering LT a contract like Jones signed in KC. I think we can beat that too! Specially if we backload it with some starting and/or production incentives...so he does make more if he plays more...due to injury or whatever.

Can you say, back to the best rushing attack in the league!?!? Maybe, Tarvaris can QB us to the big one with help like this...?

It is most definitely a very exciting prospect to have both of these guys on board.

    Let's get it done!!!

Well if you are worried about him laying an egg in the playoff's, then the Vikings may just be his place.

I'll take experience over fumbles any day when it counts.

    Fumbles in the playoffs:
    LT - 1 in 7 games
    AP - 2 in 3 games

If you look at the last couple playoff games for LT, you will see lack of carries.

    12, 5, 21, 7, and 2.

So I would like to know how he layed an egg? He was not great but in no way layed an egg. The game against the Jets this year was not very good but the Jets have a great D. 5th against the run.

How has he not laid an egg? In the biggest game in San Diego history (against the undefeated Patriots) he pulled himself out of the game.

He has had 7 playoff games and has less touchdowns than Adrian Peterson in 3. He averages 46.7 yards in playoff games. How can that not be considered and egg for the 8th highest rusher of all time?

No matter what you think of AD in the playoffs (89.3 yards and more than a TD a game) you cannot argue that LT has disappeared in the playoffs regularly.

Not like I am the first person to ask about him in the playoffs ... numbers don't lie ... and for LT in the playoffs, they have been little and far between.

While looking at the numbers I realized that counting the playoffs, LT has not gone for 100-yards rushing in 24 straight contests and only twice in his last 36 games.

To act like he has not lost a step is a stretch. I would welcome him as our THIRD DOWN back and an emergency starter, but those acting like he is anything near the LT of old are sadly mistaken.

We have won this year without Peterson going over 100 yards. Peterson only went over 100 yards 3 times this year. Those stats mean little to me. What means more to me is taking care of the football. LT is better than AP at doing that.

Agreed, on all points. That said, I will take him...but, won't be heartbroken if he's a Jet.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent
