    Typically a GM is.
Now I now Singer is hanging around out there waiting to say we don't have a GM, but if one were to do some research, a typical structure were they don't have a GM, the VP of Players Personnel has those cats under him.

You guys need to read the NFC/AFC who is calling the shots thread. Pretty interesting stuff IMHO.
I read it and still nothing there proves you are right. Here is a clip from it.

Spielman is a savant when it comes to scouting. Last year, he claimed he eliminated 150 players prior to the draft for various red flags. Considering that only about 250 players are selected, that is a significant number.

The one thing I really got to disagree on is Reaching for a Tackle. Everyone thinks we are going to reach, but everyone thought we were getting a Tackle last April. We past becuase the value wasn't there.

And another thing I been watching alot of games and watching Ryan Cook's performance, he's a good Tackle who should only get better. He's definitly one our top Run Blockers and does well in pass protection but he's inconsistent. The guy I really worry about is Herrera and Backup Center. The fact that we benched Cook last year lets me know we're coach him hard, I think he can take it and become better, he should fully understand the level of play that is expected. Def not going to give up on him or under value what Hicks did for us at LT!

If we have to reach to get a Tackle, lets not do, get the CB, WR, or even LB that is BPA. Higher value and still covers a need.
I agree. Cook has some plays where he completely turns into a statue. And some where he can't count. He also doesn't finish his blocks at times. But all in all, he's much better than I thought before I reviewed his plays from last season.
And in that review, I happened to notice that Herrera was worse than I thought.

    Two converts......... ;D

Herrera, as with Hutch, seemed to struggle at times.
My guess is that thier problem has been alleviated/moved on.

Great post. I still dislike Cook but I would rather draft a WR or CB in the first before a OT. I really am leaning towards Harvin. He is a playmaker and we need that to compliment Peterson.

    What is the big deal?
I mean Moss smoked it and he panned out pretty damn well for us until we traded him.
As long as he aint crazed about it like Ricky Williams, im fine with it.
