Umm Yea I Dont think they would want smoot smoot has done nothing n minnesota he had 1 pick this year n 2 last year u forget there gettina a new head coach he might like them soo the trades n oakland all depend on what
HC they get.

I'm not in any way a fan of Porter, but I can't argue the fact that he's a lot better than what we have.

I cannot imagine this Smoot trade taking place, though both teams would like to get rid of each player. I would think both are more tradable for second-day draft picks.

Maybe Wilf over rides Childress and brings back MOSS to his home.
It would be nice and Wilf would not have traded Moss if it was up to him.
Just a thought but I like Calvin Johnson in the draft.
We need to do anything we could to get him here.

He managed his best year as a pro so far years ago, and it wasn't even that great. Travis Taylorish even.

Is he better then what we have? How can you possibly say yes? Has he been OK in the past, yes, but so have some of the guys we have right now. His little pissing contest with management this year about his role and his money must of rubbed off on everyone. Until this thread I though the only person you considered Jerry Porter to be great was Jerry Porter.

oakland thought they were going to be unstoppable with porter and moss, didnt think it mattered who the QB was.

that worked out pretty good for them didnt it?

Porter had his best years and put up almost 1000 yards in each of the last two seasons he played in (04 and 05).
He didn't play this year, so obviously his stats sucked too.

The closest Taylor ever came to putting up numbers like Porter did was back in 02 with Baltimore, and even then he fell short by almost 150 yards.
So to say that TT is as good as Porter is rubbish.
MRob only beat Porters numbers once, and that was in 1999 with the Bears.

I think it is safe to say that he is better than anyone we have now.
There may be better WRs out there, and I hope that Childress and co. find them and bring them to Minny, but Porter would at least be a step up.

Plus, it is highly unlikely that Smoot will agree to redo his contract, so I don't expect to see him here next year anyway.
