Smoot For Porter?

St. Paul Pioneer Press (scroll down) (registration required): "The Vikings might be able to trade cornerback Fred Smoot to Oakland for wide receiver Jerry Porter."

I like both options . . . but I'm not sure of the attitude of the first option . . . he's seems to be a bit too cocky (borderline unsportsmanlike)

I don't see what Oakland would want with another DB

That is the one area on their team where they are pretty set.

I'd be happy with that trade, but why would Oakland want to take on Smooty's mamouth contract?

It doesn't make much sense for Oakland.

Smoot for Porter? If the Raiders are willing, Minnesota would be very stupid to not do it.. Porter is a very good WR that is unhappy with his current team.. I would love to see Smoot shipped out, and Porter come in..

This has about as much validity as the Moss for a third rounder rumor.
