Lito Sheppard

With the Eagles signing Asante Samuel, Lito Sheppard might be available in a trade.
His cap numbers are not bad for the next four years.
We could use another corner, but they might want a lot for him.
The idea of Sheppard and Winfield starting at the corners, Griffin as the nickle, and McCauley at dime sounds good to me.
Both Griffin and McCauley could work as backups at safety as well.
Just a thought.
Maybe Lito has really fallen off in the last couple of years, but I think of him as a fairly accomplished corner.

Would have to see what they would want tho. I have always liked Phillys corners. Jim Johnson has
always come up big there. Lito has some great left in him but I would imagine they still want alot yet.

I think the price will be too high, but i would like to add him if his stock drops a little..

He would be big bucks in a trade.

He would be a great guy to have, but I think instead of moving Griffen to nickel, hell move Winfield to safety and have Sheppard and Griffen as our dbs.

Winfield has never played safety & is our best CB. Griffin on the other hand has played the safety position.

I just think that Winfield is such a great tackler, that he would be able to switch to safety and we could leave the younger guys out on the corners, that's all. Griffin IMO is really coming along nicely as a corner.

Part of my thinking is that Winfield MIGHT be getting injury prone.
Hopefully he is on the field more next year, but if he has problems you would have two first tier starting cornerbacks, one second-tier corner in griffin who can start if either the first two are dinged up...

Chances of trading for Sheppard are probably nil, but I hope that Spielman et al. have at least considered it.

He is an Eagle so we have a better than average chance of him getting consideration but didn't he take TO's side when he was having his problems with Childress/McNabb?
