List of players vikings are interested in.

Found this list of players from another board.

So from this list of free agents and draftees the viking are interested in, how many do you think will actually become vikings this year? i guess we'll see within in the next few months.

I have a prediction of five players from this list.

Players that the Vikes have shown interest in and/or talked to :
    <1> USC CB Justin Wyatt
    <2> OSU MLB Anthony Schlegel
    <3> USC TE Dominique Byrd
    <4> UFA RT Jon Runyan
<5> Utah State OT Donald Penn
    <6> UFA RB Shaun Alexander
    <7> Memphis RB DeAngelo Williams
<8> South Florida RB Andre Hall
    <9> Wisconsin C Donovan Raiola
<10> Boise State OT Daryn Colledge
<11> Mississippi State RB Jerious Norwood
    <12> Minnesota RB Laurence Maroney
    <13> Georgia QB D.J. Shockley
    <14> LSU WR Skyler Green
<15> Eastern Washington QB Erik Meyer
<16> Penn State DE Tamba Hali
    <17> UFA RB Maurice Morris
    <18> UFA QB Josh McCown

    Ben Leber

Adam Schefter on Total Access reported the Vikes may make a run at him. Definitely strong side and can get to the QB; real solid, but coming off a foot injury.
Seems like the type of attitude this team needs, also. That'd be a fine pick-up.

2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
    Ben Leber
    Grade: 69 | Key
    Alert: None

    Comment:
Has speed in pursuit. Can play square at the point of attack. He gets very good depth in his pass drops. Good hand use on cut block protection - protects his lower legs and keeps his feet when flowing laterally to the ball in pursuit. Can control and shed tight end blocks at the POA. He shows very good range. Can slant and penetrate through the line. Can engage blocks and move laterally. Can hit and wrap-up on tackles in the box. He can be out of control in space, will dive and miss. Makes most of the plays he should but he does not show a lot of play-making ability. He is not the type of LB that is going to make a lot of explosive type of plays.

And old guys no matter how good they WERE~ (I realize Ben is not that old but I'm talking about other players people want to get in FA.)
I want to build for the long run, not just one year!

Agreed. That is why I think it would be foolish to bring in Priest Holmes. To many injuries and very close to retirement..
