    Re: Lets talk wide outs!

I want Jarrett, I don't think we'll get CJ, I'm thinking Tampa will take him.

I think it would be nice, maybe not likely though, if Ginn slipped to the 2nd round because of a poor combine.
Yeah, he's doesn't have the build to be physical, but he's got amazing speed, and I'm sure if put in the right weight training program, he can add 15-20 lbs or so to be more physical and still maintain the speed.
I would kind of like to see us draft a WR in the first 2 rounds.
    It's definitely the biggest weakness.
Sure there are other needs, but this is our biggest and this appears to be the deepest draft for WR's in quite some time.

Ginn hasn't declared for the draft yet, BTW.

Chilsress should come out with a new offensive scheme and eliminate the WR position. draft fullbacks and OL. that would be saweet. Aussie style offense.

I think it was TMQ on ESPN who brought up the fact that every running play involving an RB is, essentially, 10 on 11, since the QB hands off the ball and then his job is, generally, to get the heck out of the way.

BUT - if you replace the QB with, say, an RB or a WR/slash-type and direct-snap it to them, then it's 11 on 11, since all of the offensive players are involved with the play.

Pretty simple, ain't it - but something I'd NEVER really thought of before reading it last week.

Everybody else is like Troy Williamson to me.
How about another South Carolina boy - Sidney Rice.

    Great choice!
    Now you are talking.
I am not understanding why people on here are not having the idea that we can trade up and get C.J.
Jarrett would be a great pick also.
Sydney Rice is a great pick if he comes out this year.
Remember he is a third year Sophomore.
    He may decide to stay.

i have been waiting for something like that for years. the qb is useless on a running play except to act as a diversion, and if your qb sucks, how can he be a diversion

but then this year urban meyers made it happen

its what florida did with tebow all year and against ohio state to put the game out of reach. i love that play. hes more a qb but he runs like a rb.

Thought this kindof went with the thread.
Like the part of getting a TE that can stretch the field a bit.

I say if we don't get CJ we pass on a WR with the first pick.
Gonzalez would be a good possession type receiver with our 2nd round pick.
Its just no one outside of CJ strikes me as a sure thing at the next level.
There is an upside to all of them (Ginn, Jarrett, etc...), obviously (they are all 1st round projections) but it seems like a big risk.
I do not want another fast player who can't catch.

If we trade for a WR and than i think maybe we could go for David Ball from New Hampshire as a later round prospect, i hate NH but hes awesome.
I know he hasent played very tough teams but hes been driving me crazy for 3 years since im a UMaine fan.

I would take him as a project in the 6th or 7th round, and i would definatly take him if he goes undrafted, than we will all be saying "hank baskett who?"

He's not worth the 7th pick, although, we do have very good luck drafting 3rd year sophomores.
