Yeah, I think I brought him out a couple weeks ago... but with an aging Tony Richardson and an unbelievable back-field, Owen Schmitt should be a Viking next season... the kid is a beast.I wouldn't be surprised at all if Chilly brought in Tapeh, he can't seem to get enough of former eagles.
I say we draft Owen Schmitt out of WVU to play fullback.
Try to retain Dontarrious, the rest can go.

I think FB should be a strong focus this off-season, and I'd love nothing more than to get Owen Schmitt.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Tony Richardson missed TWO games this season.I don't think that it is worth bringing T-Rich back.
How many snaps did he even take this year?
He has been injured a lot!
It isn't my decision to make and I will be happy either way.
It really depends on how we "could" and if we will spend his $$ elsewhere.
JMHO!
Fer Chrissakes, SIA - why not look up his stats - it took me all of 2 seconds - before spouting off like this?

I enjoyed seeing acronyms which either originated, or were popularized on this site showing up on others like that.

I asked how many snaps did he take this year?
IDK?
If you can find that stat, be my guest.
He has been injured IMO a lot while with the Vikings!
Last year (2006), he missed 7 games.
I don't consider ending my post with JMHO is spouting off.
Thank you for the stats!
The stats just further my point.
The amount of plays and the amount he gets paid is out of wack. JMO!
He was ready to go on the sideline in 14 games this year.
He was on the sideline ready to go in 9 games last season.
Money better spent somewhere other than FB.
A FB evaluated by stats alone is difficult to do.
Blocking is difficult to find in a set of stats.
That is why I asked about SNAPS.
I just don't see him on the field enough to justify his roster spot and therefore his salary.
Sorry I didn't explain myself better.
Also, if anyone is a proponent of keeping CT, that would be another reason for me to let him go. JMHO!

However, he was in on a GREAT deal of plays during the games he played.
I think it really comes down to how much he wants to play for us next year.
Most posts are based on opinions!
Is that your opinion or fact?
Quantify "GREAT deal" for me!

Re: Let's Look Ahead To 2008 - MN Free Agents
Tony isn't here to tote the rock
His job is to make the block
That gives AP a shot
to fake some DB out of his jock
;D
WAY better blocker than Shank.
I've seen him knock a LB out of the play and still have the gusto to punish a DB afterward several times!!
Sad thing is, on his best offensive chances, TJack threw the ball ten feet over his head.
D'oh!
And, with the way the cap keeps going up, his million and half or so, really isn't that much. Or, is if more than I think?
My guess, since we didn't already resign him, is that we like our young guys (Dugan and Tahi) and TRich is thinking retirement, or maybe, moving back home to KC.
A LB that can back all three spots will be hard to replace, but I think DT might want a shot at starting, and places like Cinci will be more than willing to take a shot on him.
I think, the same may go for his Auburn brother, Spencer.
Great backup for us, might want a chance to start.
Weird, all three of these guys were Auburn Tigers.
Moore is gone.
I hope Fergie sticks.
His play improved throughout the season, he knows the system now, and is a great blocker downfield.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

T-Rich is $1.3 mil according to FOX site.
It isn't that much.
Sass is getting paid more.

Could be more, could be less.
Might have a signing bonus coming.
T-Will's salary last year makes me sick.

Makes no sense that TWill made that much...
http://nc.startribune.com/blogs/vikings/?p=1117Players are paid on a 17-week basis (16 games plus the bye week). Based on that formula, Williamson lost $25,588.24 by leaving. His base salary this season is $435,000.
Perhaps, that is his cap number?
Did he get a huge signing bonus?Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!
