    Agreed. I would rather have a less expensive, Solid guard that will gel with the o-line better. And yes, I am now officially bringing back the most overused word of last offseason. "gel".

    Depends on how old he is but if he's the right age we should take him or stephen neal
    He's long in tooth - at least 35 - Neal would be a better fit if we can get him.

    The way Childress has talked about the O-Line priority, it's a possibility.

    I don't know what kind of salary he would take though....anybody have any insight?
    I hear he cost Dallas 7 mill against the cap last year

    I'm also a Pats fan (but obviously Vikes are #1) so I'd love to see Neal here. He's had a great transition from All-American wrestler to guard and I still think he has a lot of potential, which is great.

    he was only slated to make 3.5 mil this year i dont know how much more he would be than that i think he would be a good plug for the need we have

    Nick Eatman, of DallasCowboys.com, reports the earlier release of OL Larry Allen saves the Dallas Cowboys a total of about $3.55 million on the salary cap. It also frees them from paying a $2 million roster bonus due to Allen April 1.

    I would rather get Neal even if this guy were to be within our budget to acquire.

    Not to contradict my other post but Larry Allen would be nice here too. The guy's an absolute beast, I love watching him in those off-season skills competitions when he out benches everybody else w/o even trying.

    WOW that would not be fair!!!

    Former ProBowler Bryant McKinnie, Common ProBowl Center Matt Birk, Arguably one of tha best linemen in the league Steve Hutchinson, And FUTURE HALL OF FAMER Larry Allen that offensive would be unfair.

    it would be a fantasy team. not uh no way tha nfl would allow all those playersn one team against tha rules in some way it gots to be.

    that would hands down be tha best line in history. gotsta be. wont happen not to no minnesota vikings maybe new england or somethin not minnesota.

    wow but imagin if it did tho!
    Woah now ... pull your pants back up :lol:

    It would be a very solid line ... but dont go running around calling McKinnie a former pro bowler and jinx him actually getting there one day!

    It would be exciting to see how well a team could run with that line though ... especially if Birk is anywhere near his normal self.

    Ok, youse mugs, dis is da skinny on dis Larry Allen player...
    ==================================================
    Full Name: Larry C. Allen
    Born: November 27, 1971
    Los Angeles, CA
    Height: 6-3
    Weight: 325 lbs.

    Age: 34
    Pos: OG
    Experience: 12 years
    College: Sonoma State

    2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
    Grade: 78 | Key
    Alert: None

    Comment:
    Possesses excellent bulk, engulfs undersized defenders at the point of attack and can wear defenders down over the course of a game. Shows adequate initial quickness and rarely takes false steps. Takes good angles to blocks and generally gets into good position. Plays with a wide base and rarely gives ground to bull rushers despite the fact bends at the waist rather than the knees. Has lost some quickness with age and has problems keeping upper echelon one-gap defenders out of the backfield. No longer has great range and isn't as effective pulling and trapping. Lacks ideal agility, doesn't always play under control in space and has some problems adjusting to the moving target at the second level. While shows good awareness in pass protection needs to do a better job of sliding off original block to pick up the linebacker when combo run blocking with center. Fails to extend arms at times, tends to wear down late in games and effort appears somewhat inconsistent.
    ===============================================
    He does seem kinda old.... I dunno.....

    I think Neal would be a much better fit. He has already been in the team first situation.
