Large Vikings contingent at B.C. Pro Day, Malcom Kelly to Visit

    http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1457

According to our friends at Reiss’ Pieces, a prominent contingent of Vikings officials are attending today’s Boston College Pro Day, where the most notable participant is QB Matt Ryan.

The Vikings have scheduled an April 10 visit with Oklahoma WR Malcom Kelly, according to Kelly’s agent.

    Nice!
    Looking at the options.
If teams go big on D before we pick, and the talent isn't there for our needs, WRs just might drop...I sure hope we at least consider Kelly if he falls to 17.

I'm betting they're considering their chances of Gosder Cherilus much more than Matt Ryan.
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Now I'm sure they are going to draft Brian Brohm.

They are trying to throw everyone off the scent.

    Completely agree on both counts.
Like Kelly alot...can never have too many weapons, reuniting him with AD would be pretty cool too.

Gosder is a 2nd Round gem IMO.

Minor off field incident needs to be addressed. Big athletic guy with good feet, balance and body quickness. Worked almost exclusively from a 2 point stance. Will come off the ball and strike, but overall wasn't a big finisher. Was disappointed in his playing awareness (stunts, blitz pick ups and awareness at the second level). Has some nasty in him and looks like superman, but something (playing awareness) appears to be missing. Round # 2.

I'm most happy that the Vikes have options.
DE is a need, however, it is pretty clear that thie front office is not one to reach for most picks.
Some will argue that TJack was a reach, but, hey, he's the starting QB of the Team now.
Smoke screens appear to be in full force.
Is the Kelly visit a cover-up to distract other's?
Do they have confidence in Robison, Edwards, Mitchell, Otis "my man" Grigsby?

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

Some yutz on here has a mock draft out that has them taking Cherilus at 48.
Funny thing is about that pick is that Gosder is a projected as a RT and not a LT by most scouting reports.
If they select him I wonder what they will do with him?

Move him to LT right off the bat or move Cook to LT (he was a quick study at RT last year) and let Gosder hold down the RT spot.

My guess if this really came to fruition they would leave CooK at LT and start Gosder at RT as that would only disrupt one OL roster spot because of the unfortunate McKinnie incident(s).

    48 Vikings Gosder Cherilus, OT
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

IMO QB is not our main target in the first round.

I agree, If we went Qb in the 1st round we would've been drafting Quinn.
I think now is a time we should Adress the most important position that needs an upgrade, OT or DE rather then go with the best guy available like Ryan.
