Of all the "Draft Guru's" Kiper is the one I least respect.

He has some good comments/selections here but I just don't agree with how he ranks team needs and then plugs players in them.

Suffice it to say, I used to pay for his drivel.
    Now I don't.

A friend of mine is dumb enough to pay for the insider and sends it to me so i can read it
I used to respect Kiper up till he said the Mike Williams WR pick to Detroit was the best pick ever, and suce a steal.
Still though he seems to be the face that everyone knows and reads so i thought i'd throw this out there

We cannot post Insider of anything that you must subscribe too.
Plus, we should not be posting entire articles.
A link accompanied by a quote or 2.

    I fixed it.

If Kenny Phillips is available at 17, I will be a little pissed if we don't pick him up.
Also, Jackson is a good pick, but I don't know if he would make an immediate impact outside of punt returner.
    Maybe, I don't know.

There are a few other options I would like to see ahead of Jackson.
    Harvey would be nice.
I think Fred Davis would make more of an immediate impact too, and we might even be able to trade down and still get him...

i actually agree wtih you... however, if you pay attention to his draft boards, we usually end up picking right in line with what he and scout inc have...

as far as MW.. hindsight is 20-20.....

I hope the best expert is someone on the Vikings' staff ;D

Seriously, I usually like hearing Mike Mayocks' comments the most.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Re: Kiper's Mock, other EPSN Insider stuff

i think ESPN is actually trying to faze mel out in favor of Todd McShay... i think he's pretty good too... but Mel isnt' bad either... just a lot of hype.. and he feels strongly about his rankings, so when someone doesn't select who he thinks they should select (i.e. Buffalo and the Donte' Whitner pick) he talks bad about them, then looks like a dumbass when it actually ends up being a good pick...

so that's why he looks worse than he actually is... IMO

I am a huge Fan of Mike.
Best source of info on the draft and the scouting that goes behind the scenes though is "Ourlads".

I know bleedpurple likes some of Kipers results, but I compared the 2 for 3 years in a row.
"Ourlads" was a heck of alot more on track than Kiper and also provide feedback at the end of the draft with why teams went different than thier projections.

Kiper just calls the teams idiots for not going his way.

Again, we have a group that does a 2 round mock at work for money.
Kiper lost me money for 2 years.
Ourlads made me money last year and I was in the running the year before.

By the way, Ourlads, not Kiper predicted us taking Rice in the second.
