Paving the way for VY to MN could be the possible hiring of Titans running backs coach Craig Johnson by the Vikings.
Darren McFarland of TitanInsider.com reports that Johnson could be joining the Vikings. McFarland says that Johnson has a close relationship with Vikings coach Leslie Frazier. Also, Johnson was the quarterbacks coach in Tennessee through 2009. Last year, he was moved to running backs coach after Kennedy Pola bailed for USC in the days before training camp.
Though the Titans may want to try to trade Young, the fact that he’s owed $4.25 million on the fifth day of the 2011 league year (which may or may not begin on March 4) coupled with a high base salary in 2011 means that he’ll most likely be cut. Because he has five years of NFL service, he’d be an unrestricted free agent, and thus free to sign with any other team in the league.

I honestly would love getting Young. I know he's a bit of a headcase, but the guy has shown the ability to compete and win on this level and he would come at dirt cheap. Tbh, I would love to have Kolb to start with Young as his backup and Webb playing in some special packages at WR and other positions.

I would be a huge fan of this because it would not cost any picks. I am for the team going out and getting either Young, Orton or Kolb ... All of which have had at least a modicum of success in this league and all of which are young players who would kill to have a chance to prove themselves.
I also love Cam Newton for whatever reason ... Honestly .... Completely no real reason. So I would be ok with drafting him, problem is that leaves us out the door for next year IMO.
With a re-signing of Sidney Rice in particular, this offense would have a ton of weapons for one of these guys. If it were to be Young, we could still go get an offensive lineman at No. 12 as most mocks have us doing now and we really would be solid with young talent on offense for the next couple of years.
Obviously on all the guys people will have opinions one way or the other ... But I think most agree, the Vikings need to go get SOMEONE to take the snaps next season ... Joe Webb just is not the answer for 2011, definitely not without firm competition.

Also, I don't see Young even slightly entertaining coming here to be a backup to Kolb.

idk about young. he has had off and on success. the vikes need someone who is going to be THE QB. I dont think they should "take a chance" or "give the kid a shot" with anyone. even if they have to break the bank, they need to get a QB that will do his job and provide consistency. I like what Webb has shown, but he needs to learn some stuff. One thing that i like about Webb is that when he is scrambling, he still has his eyes up the field. also, who are all of the potential Free Agents?
