This is our biggest question IMO.
Really, I think it could go one of three ways:

1.
It takes time to replace a probowl C, Sully struggles possibly because of size, more likely, experience.
2.
Sully makes better presnap calls, and/or his added mobility opens up the playbook...hard to believe, perhaps, but better overall OL play is seen.
3.
The other two balance each other out somewhat...we have increased presnap/blitz pickup issues due to inexperience, and "gelling among the OL, but are obviously improved athletically, and the OL can perform more pulling, sweeping, screens etc.

Here's to hoping for No.2 And improved QB play helping the whole system out!!

How did you determine that?
He didn't.

If you reread it you will see he was laying out hypothetical scenarios, not absolute statements.
Let's face it..Birk was outstanding over the past years, but there were definitely cracks in the armor last year as there were a few attacks that got through the middle.
The inevitable was obvious and they must have been extremely confident in what they saw from Sullivan last year in practices to make a decision to put an offensive line that really only needed to upgrade the right side this year to make a wholesale change at center.

You can't be serious. You really think he is that good that he can just show up and perform at the level you guys need him to?
WOW.
+1
Obviously I think that. LOL at you thinking a 17 year vet couldn't.
So you think when then run out the 21 formation he will know which stem each wideout will run, how long thier stem is (Stride vs Distance) and what angle they will take when they break the stem?

Sure, he will know that our 21 is two wideouts lined out wide together with a TE over but it won't be enough to get the details down like I just mentioned.

He will have to throw to them to figure that out.
Seriously.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Those attacks didn't all come from the C. Some were right over our all world LG and some were the responsibility of the RB to pick up. I like Sullivan and believe he will be a great player for the team. But I do expect there to be at least a season where he is getting used to his job and where he does not lie up to what Birk would be doing if he were there. It will take rime and we may not have it.

Well, God didn't take the Jets to the playoffs last year, nor was he able to heal or tear that ligament on his own.
