It wouldn't hurt to take a look at him during the fifth round considering his collegiate productivity and upside (his numbers dropped from 2007 but still had a decent year). Good size and arm strength, plus he doesn't seem to be on anyone else's radar. Could he be the steal of the draft?
I do wonder if he is still off the draft radar and while this statement is technically true:

JPW has a very poor deep ball, as well.
Even the 'bama fans that loved him would finish their comments with, "...if only he could throw the deep ball..."

As I understand, JDB is lacking a deep ball also.

    I hear ya!

If we're talking ideal situation, I'd agree with bleedpurple and say pick Steven McGee out of Texas A&M.

But, the Vikes have 2 starting QBs so this thread is pointless.

After re-reading this, I realized I had not properly conveyed my thought.

I was trying to say that it was very improbable that a QB would be selected early enough in the draft to provide a realistic challenge to the 1 or 2 QB spot, so the discussion of drafting a QB like McGee was futile.

I apologize for my apparent implication that the topic of the actual thread was pointless because I find the subject most valid and would love to see a talent upgrade at the #3 QB spot. Thank you.
