Good move! I like this guy a lot.

The Vikings re-signed the defensive tackle Saturday to a two-year contract worth a maximum of $6 million, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

Re:Jimmy Kennedy returns to Vikings
Jimmy Kennedy looked very good to me, during many of his plays on the field. I think he's only going to get better, and I'm happy it's going to be with us....Nice way to hold onto a future starter....

I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

Re:Jimmy Kennedy returns to Vikings
This is good news. I thought he was gone too. I know he wants to start but maybe he sees a lot of action this year and starts next year when Pat retires a superbowl champion!

Re:Jimmy Kennedy returns to Vikings
I definitely thought like the others on here ... that he would get a shot somewhere else.
Glad he saw that being on a contender in a spot where he will be the starter one day is a better gig than being on a bad squad.
Glad to keep him on board.

Re:Jimmy Kennedy returns to Vikings
Welcome back Jimmy! And, like Sapp, for 2 years! Good depth at least, possible starters down the road if they continue to improve!! Nice! And, very affordable.
I'd like to think that JK would be in line for more playing time when Pat retires, but, he's usually listed behind Kevin. Does he have the size and strength to take Pat's spot eating the run? It would appear he has the weight on paper, but I've always wondered about Pat's listed wt of 317...?Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Re:Jimmy Kennedy returns to Vikings
Yet another smart move by our FO pukes.
Of course, this only happened because JK finally realized that he is a DT in this league and not ever gonna be a DE and started to play to his potential.
I look to see him, as he did this year, continue to take more reps from Phat Pat, especially early on in the season, so the big Fella can be fresher towards the end of the season.....
Call it a DT "Pitch Count" if you will.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re:Jimmy Kennedy returns to Vikings
Yet another Rams D-lineman going somewhere else and playing on a pretty high level when he gets the chance. It's pretty amazing how the Rams keep investing picks at the DE and DT postion and are still going nowhere, while other teams get bargains in those players after they released them.
