Primary Target? Broncos’ Walker would be a good fit

It’s no secret that the Vikings are still in need of help at wide receiver to go with veteran Bobby Wade and prospects Sidney Rice and Aundrae Allison. Denver’s Javon Walker could be on the team’s radar if he becomes available....

I would welcome him in a heartbeat, as long as his knee checks out OK.

I would pay close attention to that physical my friend.
A proven veteran with many miles on those knees.
But if he passes it may be worth a third or less.

If he could keep his knee on the mend I see nothing but plusses out of this guy:

    1) Veteran leadership in the position

    2) Familiarity with the WCO

    3) Familiarity with the NFC North

    4) Without me knowing the play schemes in each instance he looks like he posted decent yards rushing in '06

    5) Teamed again with former Packer Fergie (don't know if good mojo between the two or not though, so I'll be optimistic)

    6) Don't know the genesis of the 83-yd long reception in '06 but I like that, shows he capable of a big play.

    7) Hasn't fumbled in 3 years (recognizing only played 8 games though in '07

Let's give them TWILL and whatever they want

When he's not injured, he's one of the best WRs in the league. Imagine this for next year:

    1. Javon Walker
    2. Sidney Rice
    3. Bobby Wade
    4. Ferguson
    5. Aundrae Allison
What qualifies him as one of the best receivers in the league? His one Pro Bowl appearance in six years? His two 1,000 yard seasons in six years? His one season with more than 70 catches or more than nine TDs? And when has he not been injured? He has played in 25 out of the last 48 games he was on a roster. He is an average receiver ... and we do not need an average receiver who is also a selfish prick whiner.
None of our current wr have been to the probowl had a 1000 yard season (let alone 2) or caught 9 td's..........in fact none of them have ever caught more than 4

Seriously, I do think Walker would be a great pick up as I stated earlier as long as he doesn't bust the bank and he stays healthy(I know that is unpredictable).

    Re: Javon Walker?

If the Broncos cut him, why not? It never hurts a team to bring in some new talent. And if he doesn't work out, cut him and we go our separate ways. I bet that this year he signs a one year deal (ala Randy Moss) since nobody is going to give him any kind of huge contract. Then (just like Randy did) he can use the year to show that he is still one of the top receivers in the year, and sign his big contract next year once he drives his value (and price) up again.

If we can get him for free, and sign him to a low risk contract, why wouldn't we bring him in?
