With Rufus also out for the season, we will definitely need to find us some good special teamers to step up this season!

Glenn Retires - Other notes

Linebacker Jason Glenn, who has been battling knee problems in training camp, has decided to retire. Glenn informed teammates of his decision on Monday night in what coach Brad Childress termed “a very emotional†meeting.
Glenn suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament in a game last November. He returned for training camp and appeared to be going full speed during the opening practices. But the pain returned and Glenn had to be shut down.
Childress said an MRI on Glenn’s knee showed no structural damage. “He just couldn’t get what he wanted out of his body,†Childress said. “The knee wouldn’t let him function.â€Â
Glenn joined the Vikings last summer during training camp primarily to play on special teams. It’s clear Childress really likes Glenn. The coach mentioned that he would certainly consider bringing Glenn back if the Vikings needed a linebacker at some point and Glenn’s knee feels better. There also might be a chance Glenn could return to the Vikings working in a player development role.
