Ya, didn't say the link was current, just the only thing I could find."Marrdro" wrote:
I know what your saying, but that link there is from last year when he was tendered a deal, someone could have got him for a second rounder but nobody opted to sign him.I had him listed pretty high as well, however, someone posted a link in one of my offseason threads that showed he was close to signing with the Ravens.
Only thing I could find that is even close to anything like that.

;D
This time of year I frequent alot of message boards, however, this year I have had a hard time just getting on here.....Damn work.I aslo read on the Ravens Message board that they were close to signing him but this was during the playoffs and nothing has been said since then.
I think there is a possiblity they are getting close with them, but I think it would be wise for him to test the market if he's looking for Value. The Ravens could also Franchise Tag him if they felt necasarry, but they also have other key players they may tag.
So far he's not signed nor is he tagged, all indications lead to him being available untill further news. I think he's a very good player, probably one of the few blew chippers on the market, it would be a mistake for the Ravens to let him slip through.
;D
Anyways, the Ravens have a lot of hard decisions to make this year.
Gonna be a fun team to watch especially with Rex moving up north a bit from them.
My guess is he will grab a few players to help fix thier defense...... ;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I knew I say something on him........
I still think I am gonna pencil him in.
If they really wanted him and he wanted to stay there, they should/could have signed him by now you would think...... :

Starter: Birk - Until he officially leaves I still think he will be here
Backup: Cook - Played Center in college
Backup: Sullivan - Played Center in college
Starter: Brown - A beast
Backup: Chester - Listed as a G and played TE in college and G his senior year.
http://fantasyfootball.usatoday.com/content/player.asp?sport=nfl&id=3702The Ravens have officially moved G/C Chris Chester to tight end.
I can't see any way they wouldn't sign him. He will not be a Viking.

That is what I was thinking. Teams don't usually let a guy like that go at this stage of his career unless there is a coaching change or he wants to go because he doesn't get along with the staff.

Points taken, especially the one about a promising, young, QB; here are some counters:
1) Birk is gone.
2)
Cook is unproven at Center (and, sorry Marr, RT for that matter).
3)
Sullivan is unproven too, promising, but unproven...in fact, there was talk at Training Camp about moving him to guard.
Other factors, specifically on the Ravens...Terrell Suggs, Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, and Jason Brown are all 5 Star UFAs according to Scout.com.
The Ravens better get busy if they want to keep Brown IMO.
Also, don't discount that many teams have Birk as the #1 UFA Center, perhaps the Ravens do too.
I lobbed out an obvious overstatement to try to get some action on this very slow board...it is neither a given Brown is staying with the Ravens nor that he will be a Viking.
Both, of course, are possible.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

I truly understand what you are saying but at least we have unproven guys that played Center in college. The Ravens have none. They either need to resign Brown or draft Mack.

Right now I really only want 2 guys in free agency. Gross first, then Brown.
