Re: It's simple: Hawks must sign Hutch, doesnt look good for us
We tried, don't think it will happen.
Sorry to say it. They were totally counting on Hutch and I think they do as this thread is titled. After Schefter's report yesterday, even with the guys showing up in FA for visits, they still sign him.
If you see someone you like, you atleast give yourself a chance to woo them in. Maybe one of these FA, will play for a base salary of Peanuts to play on a SB contending team.
Remember, if they make the cap this year, the cap goes up again next year, plus they have all that time to restructure contracts and iron everything out. They problem I have with them not signing him, is that they made it to the SB last year, they only need a position here and a position there, not a ton of new guys to muck things up. If I was a hawks fan, I would be saying they need to sign him and move on. THEY are POISED to go to another SB, make a run at it with the same guys.

Here's an exerpt from this news outlet in Seattle:
Seattle would have about $24 million in salary-cap room if it chooses not to match the $49 million offer Hutchinson received from the Vikings, and looking at players like Abraham and Peterson could amount to a taste test of what that salary-cap room could be used for.
