a kicker? do you have any idea how big a kicker is? he made 20 field goals last year and he is very good under what 45 yards? he only misses the real long kicks. if those 20 kicks were all 3 point field goals he would account for 15 touchdowns worth of points just for the kicker.

Exactly. Having a reliable kicker is HUGE these days.

heck yeah especially when your offense can't punch in touchdowns or get more than 40-60 yards per drive. heck i'd take 3 points on every drive that would add up rather than no points.

Mixed feelings about this one. Great we signed him away from GB (Sharper's got a former teammate). It's also good we've got a solid kicker. But no look at Viniateri or Vander"beek"? Two mil a year. Staff just not sold on Edinger I take it . . . granted he missed a few 30-40s, but he was pretty clutch when it counted.

I think the philosophy was, "let's get the guy that cost us two games in 2004, so he can't do any more damage."
