I know a few people (including myself) were wondering when the offseason was going to get interesting, so here are the dates for various offseason events.

January 15
Last day for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft

January 21-26
Senior Bowl Week

February 3
Super Bowl XLII

February 20 - 26
NFL Scouting Combine

February 22
Last day for NFL teams to use their franchise tag

March 3
Free agent signing period begins

April 26 - 27
NFL Draft

In many ways, the offseason is the best part of the year...unless of course the Vikings are winning consistant games.
The offseason is time for optimism!

At least everything is dragged on throughout the course of the year.
There are few time periods where nothing is happening.

Feb. 3: The Day the Music Died - Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper died in a plane crash in 1959.

Feb. 7: Send a Card to a Friend Day - obviously created by a card company

Mar. 1: National Pig Day- Recognizes and gives thanks to domesticated pigs.
