I remember hearing on Mike & Mike in the morning on ESPN radio about 3 weeks ago that if Vilma was indeed on the market that the Jets would've wanted the Redskins #6 pick. I don't think they would've traded that much for him, but they might've (at that time) traded Ladell Betts & a draft pick for him.

Vilma's a stud, and although I wouldn't trade the 7th overall straight up, I'd trade the 7th for Vilma and their 2nd rounder.
I don't see them trading him, he's one of the best young MLB in the game.

id do that trade without a doubt, but like you said, why would the jets ever even think about giving up talent like that
