    Re: Ideal 6 round mock

I like the Sims and Jacobs selection but I want a cb in the 2nd round with a OG in the 3rd. We know our weakness is linebackers so better to improve our front 4 and secondary to mask the LBs.
Its not braggin if you can do it!!!

    30/51 passing, 458 yards, 5 tds, 1 pick, 58.8 CMP%, 162.69 passer rating, with a long of 63.
Uh, I thought the max passer rating was 158.3, is it different in college?
    Yes it is.

I know this thread is about your draft, but hows this sound:

    1) Ernie Sims
    2) Max Jean Gilles/Davin Joseph (In case Gilles is gone)
    2) Omar Jacobs
    3) Roman Harper (I like him a little more than Anthony Smith)
    3) Martin Nance/Derek Hagan (whoever's available)
    4) Tim McGarigle (the NCAA all-time leading tackler, what's not to love?)
    5) Jeff King (maybe a reach, but he's underrated)
    6) Charles Bennett (DE out of Clemson in case you're unfamiliar, will be a STUD)
    I need a CB.

I just slapped this mock together to see how it goes over. This will influence the mock on my paper.
    What paper?

College QB ratings can be significantly higher. I don't know if there is a maximum number. If I remember right you can get the college ranking # jacked up to over 400 if you throw in crazy numbers (1000 attempts, 1000 completions, 30000 yards, 400 td, 0 ints.....). The top QB's in college are typically 160 and above.

To say Croyle isnt accurate isnt entirely accurate, he had a 59.6% completion percentage, which is a full point better then the example you gave with Jacobs. Granted Jacobs finished with 60.7%, but i dont think anyones gonna argue who played better competition. And did you watch the Wisconsin defense this year, im from Wisconsin so i saw most games, they were terrible.
yea i should have known not to post the game he played vs wisconsin cuz wisconsin phuckin sucks.

you guys are crazy! I brought up the notion the Vikes may select a receiver in the first 3 rounds and was called crazy too. So welcome to the club!

no WR? i think 3rd round we should get a WR.

That and i think we should draft a OT not an OG!!! We drafted an OG last season and we screwed everything up when we kept subbing him in at OT and OG!!! I think if we give him time to get set at one position we won't need a right guard!!! I really don't want Rosenthaul again!!! He sucked!!!

    Re: Ideal 6 round mock

I dont think we need a WR that early. I like the depth we have and i feel we can add a wr when vet cuts are made, or give the chance to our NFL europe guy.

I say first round we draft the highest rather CB, or LB. Personally, I would be giddy if Huff dropped, but I dont see it. i think he is the only player in the draft I would move up for.

I am of the belief right now that CB is a bigger need than LB. In a cover-2 you run alot of nickel and we have no 3rd corner. So bring in a youngin like Huff, or williams perhaps in the first round.

In the second round I would grab Dqwell Jackson. I feel he will be a better pro than Sims, I think he is a natural leader and a smarter player than sims. he could be a Vilma to us. Sims has some off the field issues, is too undersized for me and just had a good combine.

with the 2nd 2nd round pick I would need to take a serious look at Croyle. Personally I think our team has established who it desires at QB and if that guy is here or with the 1st 3rd pick than we make that decision there. With the alternate pick I go for the best Oline player available. Im fond of Deuce from USC. Kid has a big heart, huge body, comes from a winning team and just needs more development.
next I draft the best SS prospect. I believe Bullocks could drop, and I think he could play great for us.

In the 4th, 5,6 7 or whatever we just got for BPA. Grab a WR in these rounds, maybe a special teams guy who can return. look for some LB depth maybe and another corner and a oLine..but really, after the 3rd its a crap shoot

    Re: Ideal 6 round mock

1)Ernie Sims OLB (Florida State).........he is exactly like derrick brooks and we need major help at the LB spot.
2)Max Jean-Gilles OG (Georgia).........we need help at the OG spot since marcus johnson will play rt and rosenthal just simply sucked ass last year.
2)Cedric Griffin CB (Texas)........we need a nickel corner in the cover 2 defense so i think he will be a good choice.
3)Omar Jacobs QB (Bowling Green)......we need a qb for the future and this kid is extremely athletic and he has an arm and is a great leader and plays smart.
3)Derek Hagan WR (Arizona State).......we have 4 solid wr's on our team right now might as well make it 5.

for the second 2nd rnd pick im not sure what we should do. draft omar jacobs there or draft him in the third round. if we take him in the second round we should get Alan Zemaitis CB (Penn State) in the third round. he could be our nickel back in the cover 2 defense.
