The REAL QB we should have picked from the SWAC:

We should sign him up and allocate him to NFL Europe...he would LIGHT IT UP over there!!!

I guarantee you that if he ends up in the CFL, Arena League or NFL Europe, he will be a force to be reckoned with!

Good point SIUviking, people really are ignorant as to the high level of play in 1-AA. Of course your probably understand that Jackson comes out of the SWAC which is a sub-standard 1-AA confence compared to the mighty Gateway, but that's another story.
The SWAC is NOT a sub-standard conference...the amount of NFL players that have come out of that conference is way more than the amount that have come out of what you refer to as the "mighty Gateway". Just the HOF'ers alone probably outnumber all of the former Gateway players that have even SNIFFED the NFL!

Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, Doug Williams, Willie Lanier, Buck Buchanon, Ernie Ladd, Jake Reed, Sammy White, Willie Davis, James Harris, Gary Johnson, Charlie Joiner, Tank Younger, Albert Lewis, Frank Lewis, Everson Walls, Lem Barney, Kenny Houston, Mel Blount, Deacon Jones, Robert Brazine, Harold Jackson, Jackie Slater, Otis Taylor, Aeneas Williams...the list goes on and on!

    F*** the Gateway!
I am not going to argue with the level of individual talent that has come out of the Swac, but none of them played Defense against Jackson. I was referring to the level of play of the teams.

    Gateway>>>SWAC

He does look like an intresting prospect

Hopefully he catches on a CFL team so I could watch him first hand

Yes, and if he would block after handing off the ball we would have a 6th lineman we would be unstoppable!

He is a decent player and he could be a NFL backup like Jared Lorenzen (NYG) from Kentucky a few years ago "The Round Mound of Touchdown."

Plus, my comment wasn't meant to be serious, it was lighthearted... honestly.

I don't care that much about 1-AA anymore but a few years ago I would have debated with you all night.

Yeah right now Gateway is up there in the tops when it comes to teams.

Eugene had injury problems I thought.?? He sure is large, I think that led to him getting knocked around back in the pocket a lot.

While I wouldn't say that DII pales in comparison to IAA, you are right in saying that the level of competition is higher in IAA. Good D2 teams can compete with some of the IAA teams. NDSU (the college in my town) recently moved from D2 to IAA and racked up an 8-3 record their first year and a 7-4 last year.
Yeah i agree. There are alot of teams that are in DII that can handle their own with IAA!!!!

Did he even declare for the draft? If you go to NFL.com and look at the draft tracker, and search by school (Grambling St.), he isn't on the list. The only player from that school that declared for the draft is DE Jason Hatcher.
