Re: HUTCHINSON OFFER HAS MAJOR POISON PILL
There was something just on cold pizza, I couldn't catch all of it, but it said something to the effect that the Seahwaks would match the offer, or should match the offer.
Did anyone else see this? If so, could you please let me know what it said for sure.. I will be extremely pissed if Hutch's offer is matched.. This will leave us with no options for our line in FA. They will probably wait the dam week, then match it leaving us with nothing but the pathetic line we had last year. Sorry to be critical, but it seems like that is what will happen.
Don't you think that if Seattle would not match the offer, they would do it right away.. So that way they could address their needs? It just doesn't look good at this point. I hope I am wrong, but it doesn't look good. What do you think?

Re: HUTCHINSON OFFER HAS MAJOR POISON PILL
i dont think they will with the clause we put into the offer sheet..do they even have enough money to do it if the entire 50 million is guarenteed?

Re: HUTCHINSON OFFER HAS MAJOR POISON PILL
the 50 million wouldnt be paid this year, it would be guaranteed over th course of the 7 years. I dont see them signing this deal because that is a huge risk for them. However, if they start trying to redo jones' deal i would be nervous. I dont think they will since it took them 3 seasons to get him signed to a long term deal.

i know it wouldnt be all this year..but if you spread all of that money out with the guarentees and everything, does it mean that it would account for more than the 13 million this season for them? or would it still be the same? because i highly doubt jones would be willing to redo his deal because like you said, it took them forever to get him locked up long termthe 50 million wouldnt be paid this year, it would be guaranteed over th course of the 7 years. Re: HUTCHINSON OFFER HAS MAJOR POISON PILL
they arnt ognna redo any big contracts (shaun alexander, matt haslebeck, walt jones) the only thing they are going to do is straight up match or let him come to us.

Re: HUTCHINSON OFFER HAS MAJOR POISON PILL
well they surely cant redo alexander or jones's deal because both guys were involved in big contractual problems with the team in the past, and took forever to reach an agreement on their deals

i dont know for a fact, but i believe it would still be just (i say just like its nothing!) the 13 million for this year. the structure of the deal would not change, but his total compensation (salary + all bonuses) would be guaranteed for the life of the contract."thepacksux" wrote:
