Both of the Vikings restricted free agents -- S Husain Abdullah and LB Erin Henderson -- have signed their tenders and are set to go.

Abdullah, a starting safety for the Vikings, received a second-round tender that will pay him $1.835 million for this season.

Why just a one year tender?
I just can't understand why this staff can't seem to get a long term contract done for someone who seems to have worked for it and deserves it.

You evidently don't get the concept of RFA.
The tender he signed was the RFA tender, which can only be good for one year. Who's to say they're not going to get a new contract done anyway? They HAVE to sign the RFA tender, because they were tendered earlier on. If they don't sign it, they sit out of football, plain and simple.
