One more LB IMO. Draft Sims in the 1st round and we may be set with EJ there. Draft another late round one to add depth.
What does imo mean and we shoudl really give haris a chance
In my opinion. Harris is pretty bad but its always good to give people second chances. Maybe he would be good in a cover 2. He is supposed to be fast.. Maybe cotrell was holding him back.

We already have Ben Leber, are any of our existing linebackers going to play for us next year? Napo is a bum, Cowart is gone, Thomas is never going to get it, E.J. is never going to get it either, I hope they eventually do as they're blessed with such talent, but it doesn't look like it.

Do we need to draft two linebackers? Or draft/sign two of them?

I'd like to be able to pick up Chad Greenway in the 2nd round, and then perhaps hybrid DE/LB Jeremy Mincey in the 5th round.

I just wish Thomas and E.J. were quality LB's...

So did we release Cowart or are u saying something else

I see us letting Raonall Smith and Cowart go so I say we need 2 new LB's.

Greenway will not make it into the 2nd rd, not to mention, the middle of it. Wishful thinking is even if he is there when we pick in the 1st round. I say take Sims or greenway in the first rd. Sims if they are both available. Hodge in the 2nd.

    Thanks Lotza!

Re: How many linebackers do we need to draft/sign?

I think the linebackers we have may surprise some people next season. Henderson really came on last season and Harris had some good seasons in Oakland. While many people on here describes Leber as unproven and a career backup, most of the stuff I have seen about him describes him as at least a quality starter. Thomas is very fast and was said to be very intelligent when he was drafted, and has shown flashes of being a playmaker. All of these guys have the ability to be good players in the NFL, and I feel it was mainly the coaching of years past holding them back. Keep in mind they are all young, with Henderson entering his 4th year and Thomas his 3rd. Personally, I think that with some new coaches who know how to teach these young guys, they may develop into a pretty good group of backers.

I say 1 more speedy, talented, starting OLB....no backup b/s....

That means JULIAN PETERSON, CHAD GREENWAY, LAVAR ARRINGTON

Not another Leber-style backup, penny pinching, b/s move!

Somebody that we're sure they'll perform when they're on the field!

Re: How many linebackers do we need to draft/sign?

    guys...this gets simple

D'Qwell Jackson was taylor made for the cover-2, kid is beyond smart. A great coverage backer. Reminds many of Derrick Brooks. I think this kid will be huge in the right set

Our coaching staff was very excited about leber. Lets trust the fact that many of us know jack about him, yet he was a major priority for our staff. that alone should say he fills a whole

There have been reports that nap played the entire season with a bad knee. We know he has done some great things in the past and the injury story would make sense. I heard we brought some of the oakland LB staff here, and that would be great for his development.

There are 3 starters. now remember we have D.Thomas, and EJ Henderson, these guys were considered some of the greatest LB prospects out of college in recent years. Perhaps the proper staff is all they need.

Where is M. Nattel when we need him.
