How many linebackers do we need to draft/sign?
We already have Ben Leber, are any of our existing linebackers going to play for us next year? Napo is a bum, Cowart is gone, Thomas is never going to get it, E.J. is never going to get it either, I hope they eventually do as they're blessed with such talent, but it doesn't look like it.
Do we need to draft two linebackers? Or draft/sign two of them?
I'd like to be able to pick up Chad Greenway in the 2nd round, and then perhaps hybrid DE/LB Jeremy Mincey in the 5th round.
I just wish Thomas and E.J. were quality LB's...

Well they are saying that napo is going to play middle and E.J. on the outside, but I would not doubt if they sign another and draft one, or draft two.

Thanks PurpleMafia

Re: How many linebackers do we need to draft/sign?
Why would we want a hybrid when we don't run that kind of system? We need true 'backers.
I think we'll probably sign one more guy who will be a kind of guy that knows the system and will provide depth. Then we will take Ernie Sims in the first round. And hell, maybe we'll pick up D'Qwell Jackson to be our MLB of the future with one of our 2nd rounders. If not, I say we get Anthony Schlegel in the 5th round. I'm positive Schlegel will be successful in the NFL because that guy is ruthless and never stops.
So...
Free Agents: 1 LB w/Tampa-2 experience
Draft: 1 OLB (Sims), 1 MLB (Jackson/Schlegel)

Re: How many linebackers do we need to draft/sign?
Yeah our big need was at LB yet we only went after an unproven LB in Leber. We need to get Julian Peterson in here for a visit and maybe even Arrington. We need one of these players on our team because we do not have a big impact LB. Peterson is my choice over Arrington but I doubt we will have a shot at either of them.

I think we need/should sign julian peterson/lavar arrington (probably the first one, hell be less money) and draft chad greenway or dquel jackson in rd. 2

I got to think if anyone heard about Raonall Smith.
I guess they could bring him back pretty cheap as a backup.
Thanks to PPE for the sig.

One more LB IMO. Draft Sims in the 1st round and we may be set with EJ there. Draft another late round one to add depth.
