How to draft the BEST Offensive Lineman

Talent and crappy footwork or great footwork but mediocre talent?

I'd choose good footwork if it was me. Look at what Greg Eslinger did at Minnesota, despite the fact that my shoulders are probably wider than his. Also, look at what Mike Williams (T, Texas) did (nothing), despite having all the size and strength in the world.

A long read, but I'll give another way to draft the BEST offensive lineman... Trade up and draft D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Not for us, obviously, but for a tackle-needy team such as the Saints or Falcons.

Um, as a former offensive lineman, I can tell you. The ability to use your feet to get set up well, balance, and use your hands are what "talent" is for an offensive lineman. Strength and size are WAY overrated. Luckily, footwork can, for the most part, be taught, but so can strength and size :-)

I wouldnt mind us taking a OL in the 3rd or later rounds. Can never hurt to have to many linemen.

Most likely the Vikes take a talented OL in the 2nd or 3rd rounds to seal up the right side of the line or at least create competition for the spots.

i'd like to grab a future hole plugger for hte OL.. create some compitation but mostly so they can watch the game.. get the speed and nessesary skillz/smarts to play in the level of the NFL.

someone we can turn to in say 1 - 2 years to solidify the right side. and possibly get a well rounded education from birk&crew!!
