Re: How about stealing CC Brown from the Texans for a second rounder?

I dont understand why most people want to add a veteran safety, when we should be trying to get younger back there, and draft a defensive end, when we are already young and need a veteran presence there. To me it makes the most sense to sign a good veteran receiver (which I think is obvious), and then sign a veteran end to replace Udeze, and finally draft a new young stud at safety like Kenny Phillips or Reggie Smith.
Madieu Williams (who most people want) is only 26 and would bring experience AND youth. Gibril Wilson who is also an option is also 26 bringing youth AND experience, and C.C. Brown is only 25. I think people are looking at bringing in youth that has ALREADY proven they can play in the NFL. Yeah there as some POTENTIALLY good safetys in Phillips and Smith, but we dont know for sure.

As for an end, I agree that we need a veteran presence there (I would be pumped if we got Justin Smith), and I also agree that it is pretty obvious the Vikes will at least try for a Vet WR.

None of thee WRS will set the world on fire.
    BB is incosistant but fast.
    BJ is inconsitant but big
Porter is a walking ego that's never had more than a 1000 reciving
    Hackett - can't stay healthy.

    A Veteren DE?
Smith is the best available and will demand a 5 mill a year contract( not worth it)
The rest are overrated under performers

    Again,
We should trade up for Gholston, Draft Smith and user the rest of the picks to add a WR, TE, FB Qb and DT.
After the combine he had, Gholston will be the second player taken, only behind Chris Long. Do you have any idea what it would take to trade into the 2nd overall pick?

And by draft Smith, do you mean Reggie Smith? How in the world to you propose we both trade to the number 2 spot, and still have another first rounder to get Smith with. Also, unless Kleinsasser or Dugan is cut, we will not be needing another TE.
I don't think Gholston will be second over all.

I depends on wha Miami does.

MIA - Long or Qb seems to be the best pick
    Rams -
    Long or Dosey
Falcons - McFadden and a QB in the 2nd
    Raiders - Jake Long
Chief - Qb or Wr or a Reach for an OT is possible here.
Jets - Should be looking for additional picks for ( trading partner per a trade chart our 1st, a 3rd and a 5th = 6th pick)

How do you supposed we do that?
To trade up for Gholston would be a trade into the top 5 in all likelyhood, something that would cost us our first rounder, second rounder and likely our first rounder next year...

I would argue that Justin Smith is worth that kind of money, he's a consistent veteran who is solid against the run and pass.

As far as WRs are concerned, all 4 of those you named will likely make a bigger impact than any rookie or WR currently on our roster.
