Ok, i was just wondering if someone could break the offseason down for me. I am a BIG football fan but I need some help.
What rumors have the best chance of happening? and what are impossible?

Acquiring Larry Fitzgerald

Randy back to Minnesota probably has little chance of happening. Childress hates "me first" kind of players, and that is the way Moss has been his entire career and is probably even worse now than he once was after being stuck in Oakland for two years. There was one paper in Minnesota that started this rumor (I think it was the TC paper) and ever since then the rumor has been flying around, but I doubt there is much truth to it.
I have no idea how the Fitzgerald rumor started. In my opinion, the Cardinals would be retarded to trade him. This rumor started in the same paper as the Randy rumor did, and as far as anyone can tell it has little actual validity.
Acquiring David Carr could happen. IMO, this one is probably the strongest rumor of them all. It's been reported a lot of places, and supposedly actual conversations have taken place between the Texans and the Vikings. I think this one has the strongest validity.
Acquring Garcia is also a possibility, but probably won't happen. Supposedly he's going to carry a big price tag and I doubt the Vikings will want to shell out that kind of money to a 37 year old quarterback. I doubt Garcia ends up in Minny.
The Vikings would scoop up Johnson if he dropped to 7 (duh) but there's probably little chance that Childress is going to trade up to get him. I see the Vikings trading down if Johnson is gone and picking up someone else in the middle of the 1st round and getting an extra draft pick out of it.
If the Vikes pick up Carr or draft a quarterback (probably won't happen, at least not a guy that can start anyway) there is a chance that Tarvaris won't start next year. There's also a chance that Brooks Bollinger beats him out for the job in TC in the "competition" that Childress promised us at the end of last year.
The way I see it all working out is this: Carr either stays or is traded somewhere else. Garcia gets signed by another team with a quarterbacking need. Johnson goes to Tampa Bay. Randy gets traded somewhere on draft day and Fitzgerald stays a Cardinal. I think Tarvaris is our starter on day 1 next year.
That's just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth!
Well let me give you my opinion on those rumors:
Randy back to Minnesota - not going to happen. The main reason for this is that I don't think that Childress would want him on the team.
Acquiring Larry Fitzgerald - I think it would be reasonable that the Vikings would want him, and Larry would probably also want to get home to Minnesota. That being said, this is a rumor made out of nothing by a reporter on a blog, and I can't see how the Cardinals would want to let him go.
............. David Carr - This is a possibility. It sounds like Houston is listning to offers, and I could see the Vikings being in the market for some competition to TJack and Bollinger. The sound of it is that they are talking about a 4th round pick for him.
............. Jeff Garcia - It could also happen. But I think more and more that he'll want more than the Vikes would want to pay. So I don't believe it any more.
Drafting Calvin Johnson - I think they would want him, but I don't see him falling out of the top 4. And the Vikings will not trade up. The sound of it is that they would more likely bulk up more picks in this years draft than getting less.
Not starting T-Jack. - TJack is still the favorite to start next season. But it's not a given, and if they bring in someone it'll be a true competition.
I think cogitans and Ltrey pretty much summed up my opinion as well, although there is something I would like to add that I have been thinking about.

That would make sense if he takes some of his drafting strategy from his former boss (Ried).
However...
Last draft the Vikings sent their two third-round picks (Nos. 83 and 95) to Pittsburgh for the final pick of the second round to grab TJ.
So Childress isn't against moving up to grab a player he wants.
It will all come down to what happens in FA, and how much Childress wants CJ.
I still don't think we will trade up to get him, but it wouldn't shock me if we did.

The reason why I feel sure we won't trade up this year, is because of the things I hear Spielman say in his interviews.
But still - like you - I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped on a player they liked. Anything can happen on draftday.
I could be wrong, but didn't I read something somewhere that Chilly said he wasn't going to get Garcia this offseason??
as for the rest, i would love to see Moss or Fitz in purple next year, and if the price is still a 3rd rounder for Moss i wouldn't mind it at all, Chilly probably won't want Moss, but if he opened up and gave him another chance I think it'd pay off. As for Fitz, i think the price tag is just too much on him.
Carr wouldn't be bad if he got cut and we picked him up, I wouldn't want to trade much for him though.
But hey that's just my thoughts
i think moss is worth the risk.
he had the ability to make so-so vikings qb's look good (see old washed up randall cunningham, jeff george, brad johnson, daunte culpepper)
he could probably do the same with tj.
and if not, he could be traded for a lower round pick or depth.
IMO a 3rd rounder is worth the chance of having a true #1 reciever.
i think he still has gas in the tank, he just needs a qb with the arm to get it to him deep, (which is waht tj has, and aaron brooks lacked)
