    Kiper is an idiot!
There usually are a couple surprises on draft day. Nobody thought that Derrick Johnson would fall to the Chiefs. Maybe he's predicting a semi-run on defensive players (7 of the 12 picks preceding ours).
Actually by draft day DJ was projected between 10-16 ... so 15 was not that big of a surprise ... I think most thought he would last to 14 or 15 once the Lions didn't scoop him at No. 10.

Re: His Highness Mel Kiper's mock draft 2006

Alot of people think White will go top 10.. I beg to differ..

    1. Houston -- *Reggie Bush, RB, USC (Lock)
    2. New Orleans -- Matt Leinart, QB, USC (Lock)
    3. Tennessee -- *Vince Young, QB, Texas (Lock)
    4. New York Jets -- D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia (Lock)
    5. Green Bay -- *Mario Williams, DE, NC State (Lock)
    6. Oakland -- A.J. Hawk, LB, Ohio State (Lock)
    7. San Francisco -- DeMeco Ryans, LB, Alabama (have a few good backs)
    8. Buffalo -- *Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon (Lock)
    9. Detroit -- Jay Cutler, QB, ( Detroit doesn't need a RB..)
    10. Arizona -- DeAngelo Williams, RB, ( Would go before White)

The locks are people I think would go top 10 before Lendale.. No way Bush ,Leinart, Brick, Vince, Mario, Hawk, Or Ngata get picked under white..

Niners need D help even more.. They have Frank Gore who is emerging as a capable back..

    Buffalo has Willis..

    Detroit has Jones..

Ariz would take Williams over White anyday..

So I could see White drop that far to us.. I would personally rather take Maroney instead anyway

Yeah Yeah ... lets start calling him an idiot ... even though he is often VERY accurate in his picks

By the way ... Holmes will DEFINITELY go to the Eagles if they do not address their need via FA, so it is quite possible he goes ahead of White ... He is not saying that Holmes is better than White ... just looking at the likely picks.
I wonder how his list will change after the combine. It always seems a little premature this far out, but it is fun to look at.

OLB Florida State. Hes a beast, my friend actually had a class with him up there and where Lab Partners...hes good and I would love to snag him in the second round.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

Re: His Highness Mel Kiper's mock draft 2006

    LOL Midgensa..

I would be happy with either.. Some people think that Maroney and White have the same speed.. The times they see are estimated.. I watched every gopher game this year and last year and I can say Maroney is most definitley a sub 4.5..

He is a big of bruiser that White is.. He isn't as big but he is BUFFFFFFF... He added more muscle this offseason and it helped alot..

He has amazing vision.. Definitley better then Bennett.. He has the speed to get to the outside and the stregth to shake a tackle..

Either way I will be happy.. White, Maroney, Or RB

Re: His Highness Mel Kiper's mock draft 2006

Guys, I'm a huge draft guy, I get IMs a day from random people on draft sights asking my questions. Kipers early mocks are full of his bold moves so that if one of them happen, he can say "I said this 3 months ago". Look how his big board changes the day of the draft. It looks like everyone elses. His early mocks are garbage. White and Minnesota won't happen IMO so far.
