Re: Harvin is a great Pick for the Chilly Haters

I think he is a good pick for "Viking Lovers."

I liked the take from the guys on NFLN, basically it was a chance that needed to be taken.
They all seemed to think if you can get over his ding (pot pos test) he is basically a steal at that pick.

Agree I just don't understand he could not wait to smoke out with so much on the line.
I love the SEC and Harvin is a difference maker in one of the best confrences in college football. He's Reggie Bush like... yeah I said it. Plus, Chilly is concerned with route running...he's going to be running slants and bubble screens for T Jack. If he returns kick well for us he will O Rookie of the year.

Could very well end up a steal.
    Moss came with questions too.
Cool for us is the other playmakers we'll have around him...Berrian, Wade, Shanc and Peterson to help ease the learning curve.
Really, adding Harvin's explosivness outside to that core seems to me, the perfect fit!

    BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.

I wish I had a dime for every post I've seen on here that mandated if this or that didn't happen it spelled doom for the Chiller.

In case you guys didn't notice, it was the entire staff supporting the effort to convince the ownership group, not just the Chiller trying to convince the whole staff and ownership group.

I hope Harvin doesnt read this board, he'd be pissed. I cant believe u guys arent happy to have a offensive threat, and if we get phil Loadholt in the second round, ill be very pissed... then we take the Best corner available. and call it a day
At this point I just hope Harvin can read, period!
Did I hear he had a Vince Young like score on the Wonderlick?

Re: Harvin is a great Pick for the Chilly Haters

By the way for all the doubters on the Harvin pick, now that we got Loadholt, I wonder who we would have taken in the 2nd had we taken Oher in the 1st.

I cant remember who all was on the board at that point.
But I think we would have been hard pressed to come up with a better 1-2 punch with Oher and ???.

I remember people talking about how hard it was going to be for our draft picks to even make the roster.
I think we got two guys that if they arent starting on week 1 probably will be before long.
That's saying something on a team picking late in the first round.

Scoring a 20 on the wonderlick is considered having average intelligence. W/R's in the NFL average a 17. Harvin scored a 12 on his wonderlick score which was one of the lowest in the draft and explains why he decided to smoke dope prior to the combine. Bottom line.... this guy is very talented but unfortunately also is very dumb or just high when he took the test.

A Fast slot Reciever that can go deep.... (Geez thats awful)
What's not to like about a reciever that brings a bit more one on one matchups and takes a guy out of the Box for the running game?
Character issues and slight durability concerns. do I recall those concerns of that nature about Adrian Petersen?
seems like Harvin is just one more weapon that needed to be added.

Re: Harvin is a great Pick for the Chilly Haters

i have read a lot of negative talk about our 1st round pick Harvin.
Let him be, remember the vikes took Moss another troubled receiver in college and that worked out.
Let the veteran locker room handle Harvin...all i care about is he gonna catch the ball and help the vikes score...also will help take pressure off of Peterson.
This pick has nothing to do with Chilly...his investment is in Tavarias...remember now with Cutler in Chi, Rodgers with a season under his belt in GB, and Stafford in Det...we are gonna need a QB next season along with on offensive Cord and head coach....
