The Minnesota Vikings contacted Saints coach Fran McCaffrey this week to ask about Haddix's hands, agility, size and attitude, perhaps with the thought of turning the 1,500-point scorer into a tight end.

Michael Haddix headed home to Vineland, N.J., on Friday to spend a weekend with his family. He plans to toss the football with his father a bit, because in about a month, Haddix will be playing with professionals.

If he can catch a cold I say we do it.
Not really, but we are almost to that point, if you buy in to the doom and gloom.
I have been guilty of that this offseason, and how can you not?

Re: Haddix loosening hands for Vikings
I'm going to guess that he will be invited by the Vikings to join training camp as a walk-on, undrafted player.
Why waste a draft pick on someone who hasn't played football at the collegiate level?
When we stop to think about it, most folks behavior isn't perplexing after all !

6' 6"????? sign him (He wouldn't be in the draft thats for sure.) Imagine him towering over secondaries. Anyone watch pros vs joes? I think it was this years finally when randall cunningham(Sp) was throwing it to a former NBA centre, seems like a good idea to me.

Re: Haddix loosening hands for Vikings
I think he would be good to look at if he is available as an undrafted free agent but other than that i wouldn't look at him.
If it is the size that is attractive then, chandler out of Iowa is a TE and he is also 6"6".
I have read he runs good routes and has soft hands as well.
He isn't the best blocker but he can be taught with Jimmy K on our team.
Chandler will also be around when we pick in the 3rd or 4th round i think."If you need two yards, I'll get you three.
If you need five yards, I'll get you three.
