Re: Gordon emerging as leader in Vikings nickelback competition
I really like what I'm hearing with respect to our CB's this year.
Especially Sapp.
Who was it was trying to convince me that he (Sapp) was gonna challenge our youngsters?
I might have to eat a bit of crow over that one my friends.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I'm a little surprised that Sapp isn't being given more consideration given his outstanding performance in camp so far.

Yes its definitely fun to watch, but he gives up a lot of plays as well
So far from what I've seen, Gordon is the most complete of the 3

As long as fellow Vikings fans concur than toss me in.
He is probably trying too hard to impress the coaches by grabbing the INTs.

Re: Gordon emerging as leader in Vikings nickelback competition
This could either be a good thing regarding Gordon or a bad thing regarding McCauley. I was hoping that McCauley would be making bigger strides, solidifying his spot as nickelback. Apparently not.

Re: Gordon emerging as leader in Vikings nickelback competition
Why would he be happy to be the FIFTH CORNERBACK?
Fifth DEFENSIVE BACK would be nice, but not as stated in the article.
I'm embarrassed for whomever wrote that article.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Re: Gordon emerging as leader in Vikings nickelback competition
I would rather see Winfield not line up in the slot. One of the interesting things about this competition is it's not just about ability but also where the players can be used on the field as well as potential matchups. Gordon and Sapp, for instance, can play either the natural cornerback position or slide inside and cover the slot receiver. McCauley strictly lines up at the corner, meaning if he's used in the nickel, veteran Antoine Winfield slides from the left corner into the slot.
